“Worth for Money.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Worth for day stay in Madurai. Rooms are very cheap and also clean. Complimentary breakfast are not so great and wont expect to serve hot. I strongly recommend for day stay and try to book the hotel through CLEARTRIP.

This hotel is really a nice place to stay. Rooms are nice but bathrooms are average. They have a really nice restaurant, which may also be a problem if you don't eat out at places which serve non veg, because they serve a large variety of non veg. Being a vegetarian, I too, was hesitant initially but the food removed all my hesitations. Their desserts are really awesome.Hotel's lobby is also well decorated. The only bad thing is that they have no internet connectivity in rooms. Rest is good. I would personally recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Stayed here in Nov 2013.Lobby was nice & neat.Rooms were spacious. Not clean.Outdated furniture.Bathroom was filty & horrible. The walls of the rooms had scibbles all over.Service at complimentary breakfast was uncalled for..totally unacceptable.Four dishes served & very unhygienic, impolite staffs.Had to rush down to checkout.Never going to stay here again. The only consolation was the fantastic dinner at Anjappar which i paid for(not sure if owned by hotel).Location wise there are other hotels closer to madurai.Would definately visit Madurai but will go for a diffrent hotel.Certainly would not recommend to anyone!!

Stayed at this hotel when we at Madurai. You will never regret your stay at this hotel. This hotel is located 30 minutes drive from Madurai Meenachi Amman Temple. Restaurant Anjappar at Annamalai Hotel finger licking good. Delicious and i would rate 5 star. At lunch hour office staff queeing to buy their food. All rooms are aircondition with attached bathroom, TV. Wifi available only at foyer.

I arrived in Madurai at about 5 AM on a weekday. This hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Mattuthavani bus stand. Few staff were snoring in the reception area, on the guest sofas. Woke one of them up and asked for a non AC executive room which was about Rs.950 per night. He said Ok, then asked me to fill up a form and wrote Rs.950 per night on top of the form and took an advance deposit.

When I entered the room, I was surprised to see centralized air conditioning in the room. I thought maybe it is deactivated for the room. I went on with my business for the next few days.

At checkout, the final bill was for an air conditioned Deluxe room at Rs.1800 per night. I was shocked. Told them I had asked for non ac executive room, and the amount was written on the guest entry form. None of them spoke in English or Hindi and since I do not know Tamil, it was difficult to converse. I demanded to see a copy of the guest entry form. There, the amount he wrote was scratched and Rs.1800 was written. I asked for an explanation on why there is a scratched amount. There was only argument.

I ended up paying for the deluxe room.

Essentially, they cheat. Avoid this place.

It's a nice business class hotel, well equipped, good rooms and service. We stayed at this hotel for two nights with family and enjoyed the food at Anjappar restaurant attached to the hotel. The bar is excellent place to hang-in during evening hours and it is overall nice experience.

The hotel is good. clean, spacious rooms and clean bathrooms. They have family rooms which can be helpful if a big family wants to stay.Yes, the hotel is far away from the city. It is almost at the highway. Their breakfast is average with hot dosa. Their restaurant serves good non-vegetarian food. If you walk a bit away from the hotel there are some vegetarian restaurants for a good sapaat(south Indian supper)
we had a car to go to the city and back. the staff was good as well. They do speak in english
