“A nice hotel to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

Hotel located at a good situation away from the noise and pollution.neat and and clean room. furniture and mattresses are new and comfortable.Room service is excellent. Quality of tea is fantastic and morning complementary breakfast was also good.It is slightly costly but a good considerable choice for a family stay.

Room Tip: room no 303 and 304

Title says it all really - nothing wrong with it, but not that keenly priced considering the average quality. View, especially at night, is good. Food not great.

This place was decent for its price, no frills attached. Just the basic necessities.

It is also close by the Madurai Meenakshi temple, though little far off from the bus stand. Since we were travelling in car, we didnt see distance as a big minus.

The room service was good and i would recommend this for one, who just need a room to freshen up in the morning, sight see and sleep in the night.. Nothing more.

I was driving from Trv to Blr during the Christmas holidays, when all of a sudden my wifey planned to see the Madurai temple and had to stay at this hotel overnight as we did not have any reservations done, and the initial few good looking hotels that I enquired were all booked. The road leading to this is very narrow(infact thats the condition of the roads around the temple) and had a tough time driving to the hotel, the parking is also not that spacious as there were already a couple of cars parked and had to squueze in my car. The hotel is below averge, the rooms stink, the bestpart was there was no hot hoter available in the bathroom in the mornings and when I old this to their so called house keeping team, we were given a bucket of hot water each!!
I checked in on the 25th evening around 9pm and checked out around 8am the next morning, to avoid staying any longer there.

We paid around 1300 INR for a double AC room pretty close to the temple and the railway station. There was an overwhelming mothball smell everywhere in the room, bunch of cockroaches in the bathroom and the whole place including the sheets was quite gross. Bed wasn't comfortable but not horrible but dirty sheets compelled us to use our own bedding. Morning are incredibly noisy, phone started ringing around 5:30am right outside our room and never stopped accompanied by variety of motor and other noises. There's a lot of mosquitoes in the rooms as there's a large, slimy green tank right across the street.

Bunch of shady bell boys work in the hotel. They all knew what room we're in and all would offer beer then charged 180 per bottle and demanded tip. It made us feel very uncomfortable. We were too scared to try their food. We checked out the next morning and moved to Chentoor. They have 24h check out like most other hotels in Maudrai, which is fantastic. The clerk in the lobby was pretty easy going. There was a little TV in the room and I think internet downstairs.

Satiated and Delighted is my immediate answer when somebody asks me about padmam..Very clean, hygienic atmosphere which makes our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Room service is worth mentioning, they acted as professionals.

the owner MR.Ramer was cool and barred all the trouble we gave him when we were boozing at our rooms...:) :) Thank you Mr.Ramer !! The food was good and spicy as madurai's cuisine is known for. Very reasonable price and indeed its worth ur money !! Try padmam and u never feel for it !!
