“Nice Hotel with friendly staff, difficult to get a good nights sleep with the brightness of the rooms and noise from reception a”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights in February, overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly and enjoy talking to guests, they will answer anything you need answered and will find out anything you need to know. Our stay did not start too well as we had to move rooms twice, first off we got 2 single beds pushed together instead of the double we had requested and then our room had no T.V in it, this was solved when we moved to our third room, it was only our 1st day (2nd night) so we didn't mind it too much. We were however, disappointed with the noise from reception at night, this kept us awake until very late even with earplugs in, there were also 2 windows in our room which point to reception (this is a strange feature as they don't point outside) this added to the noise problem and also let in a lot of light, again making it difficult to sleep. The hotel is superbly located and the sunset from the roof is spectacular. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind wearing earplugs and an eye mask. Everything else was great. The reason this review is average is because I value a good sleep above everything else.

Wonderful lake views from the rooftop. Excellent, friendly staff. Quiet rooms, hot shower and the best omelettes in India. The award for best hotel employee goes to Ane.

Would not hesitate to return if visiting Udaipur again.

We arrived to this Hotel around 4am in the morning after a night drive from Jaipur and found the Hotel reception to be closed. We were so thankful that the overnight receptionist let us in (I think he was resting) and we sat in the reception which we thought would be hours, after 15mins we heard a receptionist scoot up to the door of the Hotel and welcome us to the desk, and they had a room ready for us straight away!! We were so so so happy. This Hotel is in a great location, we hardly spent time in the room so we didnt mind.. The rooftop has amazing views!! I would definitely recommend this Hotel while in Udaipur if you dont plan to spend much time in the room.

The Tiger Hotel is in a great location and the staff were very friendly but it wasn't really up to the standard of other mid range hotels we have stayed in. Our room (2) was on the first floor and despite having 2 windows it was very dingy. The WIFI worked though maybe because we were close to reception. The bathroom was awful though - a tiny hand basin without hot water and everything looked a bit tatty. I think this hotel needs a serious upgrade if it wants to call itself mid-range.

The roof top terrace is superbly located though with a great view of the City Palace and the Lake Palace hotel.

This is a gem of a hotel, did 2 nights here as part of a 2 week tour of India. Comfortable room, great roof top terrace with stunning views. Friendly staff. Good location too as most of the tourist sights were an easy walk from this hotel .

On our three week holiday in India, this unfortunately was the worst place we stayed. It had no natural light and it was cheaply and tackily furnished. There was no wifi or phone signal, presumably because the room was buried internally. In the bathroom there was a 'window' into the internal stairwell which didn't shut so we got all the noise and echoes of people in Reception and on the stairs. It was overwhelmingly depressing.

It was New Year's Eve but instead of relaxing and getting in the mood for it for it, we traipsed round nearby hoping to find other accommodation. Unfortunately everywhere was full so we had to put up with it. The hotel staff were pleasant enough but they couldn't help us. I can't really blame them, our travel agent had recommended and booked all our accommodation, which was meant to be mid-range throughout. Unfortunately for us The Tiger was budget. Thanks Rickshaw Travel in Hove for ruining our New Year and showing no interest in helping us.

Room Tip: Don't go for the internal room

This little hotel close to Udaipur's main lake was a surprise to me. Squeezed in between several other houses it opens its great view over the lake and city palace as soon as you reach the roof top restaurant. It is lokated in very good distance to all sight seeing points of Udaipur, stuff is very friendly and helpful. It is a bit difficult to reach it by taxi, but possible.
The room was generous, clean and nicely decorated. Just opposite the hotel is the very unique cafe Edelweiss with delicious German cake. It has the same owner as the hotel.
Both are very recommendable. I would come again.
