Its a well maintained resort, different from what other hotels are in Udaipur. Facilites are par excellent, very polite and courteous staff, food is another food thing here, and the place where food is served is amazing.Overall nice place to come back.

Room Tip: We stayed at suite which is adjacent to the pool, try to live here.

Beautiful place, very silent feature is very much silence here. you can listen to the birds singing naturally. you can stay with family for relax. Don't go for business meetings and disturb those who come here for vacation. as i did.... hahaha

The palatial resort left us dumbstruck with its collection of royal artifacts. The property was extremely well maintained and had been done up very artistically and creatively. While most of the other properties boost of being near the lake, this property brings you close to the mountains. And the view is definitely breathtaking. In our 2 day stay, we spent half a day chilling our next to the pool, in the large gardens and checking out the art gallery. The staff was extremely cordial and helpful. When i couldn't finish my scrambled egg (after having stuffed myself too much already), the waiter gently asked if there was something wrong with the preparation so that they could replace the order or correct it next time. This was truly an indicator of great customer service. The only hitch is travelling to main city since this resort is at a little distance from the city. However, we were always provided a cab for a nominal price to give us a tour of the popular places in udaipur all through the day. We had a great stay. Kudos to the owner, management and staff of this lovely place.

Initially on checking in I was a little disappointed as as sad as it was to learn being an Indian (4 generations abroad) and first time in India, was disappointed that Indians in India are treated as secondary guests.

But after check in and initially not happy with our rooms......

The stay ended up being great..... thanks to 3 of the waiting staff.....Kishan, Swaroop Singh and Ganesh

For e winter the tiny heaters in a huge room did not help...tho the beds did keep you warm...

And meeting mr. Hemmant the owner was nice.

Thank you for a wonderful stay

We stayed at Royal Retreat for 2 nights. It is a beautiful property, it has spacious rooms, nice swimming pool etc. However they are severely lacking in their service and food. When we checked in to our room we found that the bed spread was dirty and torn from at least 5-6 places, the bathroom was still dirty and there was someone's hair in the sink.

The room service is especially bad. To get anything from them you have to wait for at least one hour and call 4-5 times before it gets to you. Their standard answer for everything is that they are sorry but I am sure they don't care. Their breakfast buffet was quite bad as well. The service during our breakfast was the worst I have ever seen. Our server refused to give us hand towels. He did want to get us water and when he did he didn't serve it even after we asked him to do so.

I will never recommend this property to anyone. They are extremely poor in service and their prices definitely don't match up to their standards. Extremely disappointed.

It was so nice to come again to this hotel set in beautiful country side. I was welcomed and made to feel at home immediately, in great style.. This time my room was on the raised ground floor and had a small balcony that over looked the main swimming pool. It was so nice to see nature, the birds and flowers. There had been some renovations and they were still going on ..so I was grateful that I had been given a room in a quite area. The room was very comfortable full of beautiful antiques and paintings. It was like staying as a guest with a royal family. Breakfast was on the balcony, better than room service. In the early morning it was still not too hot. There was a very nice musician who played morning and sometimes in the evenings. Food was good, fresh both vegetarian and non vegetarian. I enjoyed seeing the horses, and walking around the garden and spacious grounds. 20 minute ride into Udaipur centre and in summer it was nice to be out side the city.

Room Tip: take a room away from the restaurant and lobby area, they are very quite..I prefer a upper floor. an...

Our room was large and opulent, filled with antiques and probably, memories of royalty ..The two pools were wonderful.....clean and refreshing. Poolside bar surrounded by elephants (carved, of course ) , an enjoyable place to meet fellow travelers. Food was good, service exceptional. I loved watching the horses in the royal stable being exercised. The wildlife visited the grounds as we enjoyed the pools. The archectiture of the resort in the evenings with the pathways alight are magical. The art showrooms are exquisite, with local art and artists highlighted, and art is scattered beautifully throughout the grounds. This is a truly exceptional place to stay.
