“Very nice, friendly place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I really recommend that place - friendly place, clean and nice decorated rooms, helpful and quick staff !!! The owner organized also trip for us to see more interesting places around Udaipur.
I felt there safe, relaxed. Took a good rest before my trip to Jodhpur. Wonderful roof restaurant - good food , especially papaya lassi !

By the time we reached Udaipur we were already somewhat adjusted to the pace of the trip in India, so we just allowed ourselves to kick back a bit, and Dream Heaven is really all about chilling out..
We stayed for 2 nights, in a room with a balcony which was not really necessary, as the lovely roof terrace provided beautiful views and a perfect place to relax. The atmosphere is incredibly chill, nobody bats an eye if you feel like napping in the pillowy area or just nursing a cup of chai. It was so nice to relax there after a long day of sightseeing and walking about.

The room was nicely decorated and clean and the bed was comfortable. Yes, the bathroom could use an overhaul and a new showerhead(which didn't work, we had to do the ol' spongebath with the bucket, which didn't bother us) but for the price we were paying it was great. The general feel of the place was safe and comfortable.
The staff is super friendly and hardworking and will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The food in the restaurant is actually quite good, and reasonably priced. The laundry service is quick and inexpensive as well.

Room Tip: Be prepared - this guesthouse, like many others in India, has many, many stairs, some marble, some m...

I vacillated between a rating of poor and average for this place. I was part of the relatively large group that booked in here based on high recommendations by friends who had just stayed and many of that group have already posted reviews. There are a few positives: Friendly staff and management, quick and good laundry service, free wi-fi, the rooftop restaurant (by far the best feature but NOT the food - except for breakfast), location and views. Otherwise there's little to recommend this place. There are similar back-packer facilities right near by that are cheaper and CLEANER. The main problem with this place is the lack of cleanliness. There is not even a top sheet but a thick blanket that is for certain not washed between guests. yuk. The rooms are quaintly decorated, I'll give them that.

I was lucky to have one of the better rooms right below the restaurant (the wi-fi reached my room and balcony) which was a good thing as I ended up sick in bed for two entire days - not related to the hotel. Although quite a few members of our group got sick from the food and one of us couldn't take it and checked out after one night. If you're on a budget do a little research as there are better value places nearby. I wouldn't stay here again and recommend you give it a miss.

Room Tip: The yellow and the blue rooms below the restaurant are your best bet.

I choose this place based on a friends recommendation (she's also done a review on TA). It didn't disappoint. After spending quite a bit of money in Darjeeling, I decided to book the cheapest room available, and it was fine. Charming decor, big bed, private toilet with hot water from the shower. And it was clean.

The rooftop resto is lovely. Food is good with decent prices--and you just run a tab if you're a guest, which saves the hassle of dealing with change issues. Service is good. Staff is friendly and attentive--also helpful with booking a train ticket. And the view is amazing. I spent most of my evenings just enjoying the view and reading my book.

Location is perfect--just across the lake at the main footbridge. A little less crowded than the main tourist area. Lots of nice little places near by if you want a change of scene.

Would recommend this guest house too anyone, as it has a variety of rooms at different prices to meet different needs. If you prefer mid-range hotels, I would suggest booking one of the larger rooms with a view. This place was much nicer than the hotels I stayed in on my organized tour, and much cheaper.

Room Tip: The rooms are priced based on size, view, amenities--use that are your guide. The 400 and 500 rupee...

Was extremely disappointed when shown my room. Room and bathroom extremely dirty. Bed comes with only a base sheet and blankets which are not cleaned between guests.
I was booked in to stay for four nights but checked out after one night and stayed in a beautiful clean hotel down the road.
The only redeeming feature of this hotel was the rooftop terrace...spectacular views! Nice way to take in the views of Udaipur whilst enjoying Kingfisher beers. I would not recommend the food as a couple of my friends fell ill after eating here.

This great little place has a great roof top terrace with a view of the lake and city palace. It’s a short walk over a little bridge and then about 10minuts walk to the city palace. We were really happy with the location as we were there during wedding season and our area was slightly quieter. The roof top terrace has been decorated beautifully with plenty of relaxing seating. It is lit up at night and makes for a great view of the lake. The food is cheap and delicious. The rooms are clean and our toilet came with a lake view which we loved. Would definitely recommend this establishment, it is reasonably priced and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

The first time we were in Udaipur they were fully booked so we were lucky they had rooms available the second time we were here. Though more expensive than other places, we enjoyed our stay here. Clean room/bathroom, nicely decorated with a balcony over looking their own terrace and the beautiful waters and palace of Udaipur. We were able to enjoy the scenery in seclusion while enjoying the sun and reading our books. You also have good speed wi-fi that can be accessed from the room as well. My boyfriend was ill for a day but they were really nice to arrange an Ayuverdic doctor, as well as bring food upstairs to our room. Also a lot more quiet compared to our previous guest house. The only thing is, to actually get to the reception you have to walk up narrow / maze-like stairs, better if you're with a backpack than a suitcase. Though a suitcase in india is generally a bad idea anyways. Breakfast is good but mains are not that great. We enjoyed Millets of Mewar's food a lot more.

Room Tip: Choose the room, if possible, that is above the restaurant with the balcony on the corner.
