Nice complex of 2 storey houses round a pool. Fairly new and modern with nice clean spacious room and ensuite bathroom. we would have liked a TV especially since there's not much to do in the evening as it's isolated (as all places in Sawi Madhopur are I imagine). The 3 buffets a day were very good, especially coming from people who don't really like this type of thing. There was always an indian and western option and we had a good variety throughout our stay. We liked the morning and afternoon biscuits and tea. We did 2 safaris and were extremely lucky to see 3 tigers on our first safari. wrap up warm it's absolutely freezing. In terms of reservations the frony desk were very good at replying to my questions and were helpful when we arrived. we weren't pleased with them at all though when they said they would sort us out train tickets to bharatpur. they didn't explain we would be bribing the ticket conductor to share 1 long seat already occupied by 3 other people! plus we paid 2AC for the privelege. Also it is very bewildering arriving at bharatpur and trying to get a taxi to agra. this was the only time we actually felt initimated in india. i don't recommend this trip at all. just take the privat transfer if you're travelling to agra. 6 hours in the car might seem like a long time but this is how long it took us to complete the trip and was a hassle from start to finish.

  • Liked — mealtimes!
  • Disliked — the 'assistance' we received with our train tickets

My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights at the end of February 2008. It is situated not far from the Ranthambhore national park boundary. The main reason for our visit was to hopefully see some of the park's famous tigers, which we were fortunate enough to do. Of all the places we visited, I would say that the staff here were the friendliest and most helpful. One poor chap even waited up for me to finish watching a premier league football match one night! The food is buffet only, but the staff are fairly flexible if you wish to eat at a different time to the main servings, which work around the times of the morning and afternoon safaris. The rooms are fairly basic but do have a mini bar and air conditioning, but no TV. Unfortunately, our a/c seemed effective only in making a lot of noise (it even made a noise when switched off) and circulating the air in the room without actually cooling it down! All meals were included in the price we paid, as well as morning and afternoon safaris in the open top Cantors. If you want to go in the jeeps, you have to pay extra although I don't know how much. Drinks were reasonably priced considering the fact we were a captive market. Overall, I'd have no hesitation in recommending this resort.

  • Liked — The whole place was peaceful, tranquil and very picturesque.
  • Disliked — Noisy and ineffective air conditioning unit.

Very pleasant considering we did not know what to expect. Very clean and good food and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Peaceful and tranquil setting with lovely pool. A little out of town so take everything you need but a good location to get to the park entrance. Park is truly beautiful and a real wildlife santuary - many birds and animals and there are definately are tigers although sadly we were not lucky enough to see them, although just about everyone else did it seemed! My only negative comment is the beds were a little on the hard side - like lots of India's accomodation I think.

A little bit late in the day for writing a review on Tiger Den Resort at Ranthambhore, but I happened to read some reviews on TA for my next trip, that’s when I realised how important a good review is & therefore posting this review of my stat at Tiger Den Resort at Ranthambhore for the benefit of TA members.

Stayed for 4 nights and 5 days from 22 Oct 06. The best thing about Tiger Den are the people who run the resort and i have special word of praise for Patrix, the most hard working front office manager i have seen. Right from owners to lowest employee will go all out to accommodate you and make you feel at home.

Tiger Den is nicely located with no immediate neighbors to share the resort boundary with other than the helipad a km away from the resort. The resort is near to the main gate, but if you are going to the safari on a canter the hotel is the last pick up point so you may not get the best seats for sitting and at times if you are couple you may get seats on different rows and at most times you cannot let go especially after you have got up at 5:30 am for the morning ride. Things may be different if you have hired the entire Canter if you are more than 20 people or hired the jeep, which I think are easily book able from the resorts located near the railway station.

Coming to the resort. The resort is set in beautiful surroundings with Arravli hills as the backdrop. The views of the hills from the cottage rooms is awesome, especially on a full moon day. The gardens are well manicured and nicely maintained.
The rooms, towels and bed sheet are clean & fresh. The bathrooms are clean but not spotless. Overall very very good for the price. The food is nice and tasty, but gets repetitive after 3 nights but hey If you do not like anything or want to eat something which is not on the menu the guys will take care and prepare it for you at short notice.

The only disadvantage of tiger den is the Ranthambhore park itself, which has made poor arrangements for a safari with Canter safari being the main culprit.

I will go back to Ranthambhore if i get to hire jeep for the jungle safari & in that case i will stay at Tiger Den only & i would not hesitate recommending this resort to others.
