A great base for a very exciting & successful tiger safari. Pleasant surroundings, large comfortable rooms, good food & service. Excellent on site spa & a special mention for Anil, the naan bread man who made our stay

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your glowing 5* review, we're thrilled to hear that you (and your dog!) thoroughly enjoyed your stay at Hotel Ranthambore Regency. As a general rule of thumb, pets are not allowed at the Regency; however, as a very special case it was our pleasure to welcome you and your dog.

It's disappointing to hear that you didn't spot the tiger this time, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Regency on your next visit!

Thank you and kind regards,
Ravindra Jain

We stayed for 2 nights and were treated incredibly well by all staff but especially the manager in the restaurant and the manager of the hotel. The accommodation was comfortable in very large rooms situated in beautiful, tranquil gardens. The choice of food was limited if you didn't like curry but the staff were more than willing to make pasta dishes or omelettes if required- nothing was too much trouble and they seemed to genuinely care about making your stay a happy one.
I only wish our stay had been longer.

The rooms a set around a pool and gardens which is a great place to meet up and have a drink and chat with your new friends. During th evening braziers are lit to keep insects away and provide a great ambience. Food was excellent, with plenty of choice and well presented, staff are very efficient and helpful and the fresh naan bread is delivered to your table straight from the oven. In the shop you can be measured for a hand made shirt or jacket at very reasonable prices and if you order them in the morning the finished article will be delivered to your room by the evening.

Probably the best hotel we stayed at during our time in India, but then we did pay a lot more than in the other places (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur) which probably also says a lot about accomodation in India in general. The hotel, which could be considered more of a resort, is set back in nice grounds a short distance away from the main road, something that the much cheaper places don't have the luxury or the size of. The rooms themselves are clean, spacious and very comfortable, with little seating areas outside the rooms to relax on. We heard some guests had an issue with getting hot water during their stay, our only issue was that it was always hot water coming out, keeping showers very brief. As stated, the grounds themselves are pleasant, with a good clean swimming pool, and a decent bar inside the main building. The bar itself is the only place to have free wi-fi access, but you can happily sit in there without feeling pressurized to order anything, although to miss out on the lassi's would be a crime! (Overall the best we had during our trip). As for the food, being a large hotel it is a buffet option with western and Indian options, and the quality of the food does vary from night to night, with one night being significantly better than the other.
Of course the main reason to come to Ranthambore is for the safari, which the hotel will book for you the night before, asking you during dinner time, then adding the cost onto your final hotel bill, with an expected added amount for sorting this. The process itself does seem a bit chaotic, not knowing whether you are on a canter or jeep unitl minutes before you're set to go (the hotel will do their best to get you on your prefered first) however it all worked out without any issues, with the staff coming to tell you personally what you're on at departure time, without having to ask. We done three safari's in total, two in a canter and one in a jeep, all for hotel guests only. The staff themselves are very friendly and helpful, and will regularly ask you how you got on after coming back from the safari's. Special mentions goes to the guy who ran the bar and of course, the running roti-man!
In fairness, this place probably deserves 4.5 in total, only missing out on a 5 due to the slightly poor quality of the food at times, and the issues of the water temperature. However, in its price range, its one of its kind, with the only real option up being the ultra expensive Oberoi resort, or at the other end the cheap hotels lining the main road. Overall we're glad we stayed here and would happily go back again.

We stayed here for three nights. Everyone who worked there was very helpful. The rooms were pleasant. I am glad we were not by the pool, as it seemed rather noisy round there. We were disappointed with the food, as there was not much choice and it seemed to be all curry. There was free Wifi, which was not offerred at many of the hotels we stayed in on our trip. The hotel was near to the National Park and we were collected from there each morning fo our tiger safari. The laundry service was quick and efficient.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review and we are thrilled that you found our team to be helpful, and our laundry service pleasing.

We're saddened to hear that you found our buffet selection limited; the buffet caters to Indian and Western palettes but yes there are more Indian options than Western. If we had known that you were disappointed with the food, it would have been our pleasure to promptly arrange a freshly prepared dish of your choice.

I hope that your stay was not dampened overall by your disappointment with the buffet, and we would be thrilled to welcome you back to Ranthambore Regency on your next visit.

Kind regards,
Ravindra Jain

We loved staying here, the room was comfortable and the hotel has a garden setting, plenty of trees and greenery around, we saw a monkey trying to get in the kitchen who was shooed out by one of the staff which was funny. The laundry service is amazingly cheap less than a pound for many items, highly recommended. Also a good variety of craft and gift shops along the road near the hotel which are worth a visit, we bought most of our gifts from home from them. There is a small shop on site which sells a few gifts and will make tops and trousers to order but the staff in there are quite pushy so you have to be firm about what you want or dont want, negotiating should be done at all the shops to get a decent price for yourself. The spa treatments are fantastically cheap compared to the UK, i had a massage which was ayurvedic which i am not used to, it involves lots of oil and you are completely uncovered while it is going on, not a problem but a bit disconcerting if you are not used to it. well worth having one. the food was pleasant standard indian fare, my favourite was the hand cooked naan, it was cooked in a little hut outside close to the restaurant and brought in by a lovely man, you can have as much as you want. We were on a Golden Triangle trip so it made a lovely change to stay in a hotel in a more rural location and the prices were so reasonable. We didnt see any tigers, dont expect to and then if you do it will be a wonderful bonus. We still enjoyed our safari trips as plenty of other wildlife.
