“Stay here if you can. Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Even the taxi driver said as we arrived that it seemed a lovely hotel and it was. The formalities were quickly dealt with and we were shown to our room. The room was first class with a very good standard of fittings, including the en suite. The pool area is well laid out with plenty of seating to allow you to relax. Mr Ravidra Jain runs the hotel so well. He seemed to be everywhere keeping an ete on things and available to help if you wanted without being intrusive. The restaurant offered buffet style meals but everything was fresh and piping hot. The choice of food at all meals was wide enough to satisfy all. The tiger park bookings are half day with some starting early. The hotel has therefore extended breakfast to cater for those returning from an early start.
An example of the thought that goes into customer service arose when Mr Jain found out that on the day we were leaving our train to Mumbai didn't depart till 8.30pm. Without being asked he came to me to say we could stay in our room till that time.
The service could not be faulted

We spent two nights here and our room was very comfortable and clean although the shower was not very efficient. All the staff were exceptional, organising our safaris, serving our food and looking after the bedrooms. The food was excellent with a good choice of dishes.
Overall we felt the hotel offered a very good experience with very friendly staff and is very good value for money.

We spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel. Our room was comfortable and just what we wanted except that there wasn't a safe to store our passports etc. All the staff were very friendly ad helpful and took a real interest in whether we saw tigers on our safari drives. The pool area was very relaxing between drives and it was nice to be given coffee and biscuits before we started at 6.30 as breakfast was when you returned and again on our return in the afternoon.
The food was excellent and we always found something to eat. The nearby train station did keep us awake a bit so go with earplugs.

I sometimes wonder how a dedicated tourist resort like the Ranthambhore Regency manages to keep up the spirit of the staff. Tourists keep coming and often stay for a short while like a night or two. Nevertheless the polite staff does everything possible to make the guest feel comfortable and at ease.

The Ranthambhore Regency made my time comfortable while not in the Ranthambhore NP.
The food was great food and and so was the arrangement with the naturalist accompanying me on most safaris into the park.

Some suggestions from me to enhance the experiences of the guests to the Ranthambhore Regency could be to spice up the dining hall e.g. by letting local artisans and workshops show examples of their work, second I would have appreciated a fitness possibility.

We stayed at the Ranthambore Regency for two nights as part of our trip around India.

Unfortunately the National Park was closed when we were there as the Government were yet to lift their ban on tourism in the sensitive tiger areas. Nevertheless, the hotel looked after us well and we enjoyed a visit to the local fort and the surrounding area.

The rooms were basic but fine. The air conditioning unit was loud but ceiling fans were sufficient at the time we stayed and we slept well. Be prepared for the many small bugs that are attracted to the outside lights at night – but they seemed harmless.

Food was enjoyable especially the freshly prepared and enthusiastically served naan bread!

The free wi-fi in reception was a bonus especially as this was one of the more remote hotels we visited on our trip.

A good base in Ranthambore.

I was advised in advance that this hotel was basic so I wasnt expecting much and consequently was pleasantly surprised. The bedroom was pleasant, we were on the first floor not far from the restaurant. We didnt have the best of views as we looked over the restaurant roof but we spent very little time in our room.
The food was good (especially the naan breads delivered at high speed!) and we spent one afternoon chilling by the pool. Kingfisher beer was very reasonable here and extremely thirst quenching.
We were lucky enough to see a tiger on our third game drive, it was amazing. We also saw other wildlife including a sloth bear.
There was a bug zapper plugged in when we arrived in the room but please check your bed, we had a couple of small bugs in there. Also, the bathroom extractor fan gives easy access for all manner of bugs and we had one cockroach, and the towels need replacing straight away, they are a washed out grey.
However, on the two nights we stayed at this hotel the noise kept me awake most of the night, not only is it close to the railway and every train that goes past blasts its horn, but also, the Hindu festival calls for loud music to be played all night, it was extremely loud and disturbing.

regarding the Diwali festival this is just like Christmas and it goes on for 4-5 days during this period there are fireworks day and night and no matter where you are in India you will be affected by this, this is not peculiar to Ranthambhore ,

We stayed at the Ranthambore Regency Hotel for 3 nights at the end of our trip as our base to go on safari in the national park. From the moment we walked in we were met with a very friendly greeting and this level of friendliness and helpfulness continued through our stay. The room we had was large and set away from the pool so was quiet as well. All meals were buffets, and there was a good variety of food in each sitting and the food was always to a very high standard which we find is rare for buffet food. There was plenty of staff to help you and they couldn't do enough for you, always with a smile on their face despite the long hours! The Naan bread is also the best we had in India and was always served by a very happy dedicated Nann bread man! We were lucky enough to see both a tiger and leopard, and the staff were delighted for us when they found out; they take a genuine interest in your stay.

The only thing stopping me giving this hotel a 5 star rating is that our room didn't have a safe, which meant we had to keep our documents on us at all times. Our bathroom, although clean, felt as if it had been rushed to get finished so the finishing touches weren't quite there.

There are many places to stay near the park, but if a comfortable hotel, with good food and fantastic staff is what you are after you can't go wrong in choosing Ranthambore Regency.
