“Spacious Luxury Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

1 Overall rating Better than Average but not luxury
2 Travel Time Dec'12
3 Price Value for money
4 Comfort Good Luxury rooms .Some like independent cottages
5 Location Ranthambore is a small town ..so everything is nearby only. This is near the gate1 of the jungle
6 Room cottage style independent rooms.Clean and newly furnished
7 Service & Facilities "Basic facilites are available, 2 very big play fields, swimming pool, bonfire seating arrangements
They also arrange for Rajasthani folk dance in evenings"
8 Comments Ranthambore is a completely different experience compared to the Corbett jungles. It is more barren landscape as it’s the Chambals.Hotel is a welcome resort and is just inside the town. Gate9 is very far from the resort while gate1 is nearby. Ask for gate1 to enter the jungle safari. Hotel is more like a resort and has big lawns and good place for bonfire, dinning room is has a good design .Overall a good place for family ,friends and Corporate gatherings

Room Tip: Design of the resort is unique. It has a quite a few hideway rooms also. Take a round of the resort...

The hotel is a nice and decent property and gives you a refreshing feeling. Nice rooms amidst natural beauty gives your senses a relief to pass your day in solace and peace once you are done with your safari or outing. There is a group of 3-4 people who perform traditional rajasthani dance etc, though the same isnt that interesting unless you have a zeal-filled group members or family who can dance to the tunes. However, its relaxing to cherish your tea sitting under the trees and watching such performances.

The food is fine, though not very good. But yes it is fine and no complains as such. overall the hotel gives you a comfortable stay in a serene environment and you wont get bored if you are a nature lover.

We stayed in the resort for three days during first week of March this year. We had booked two deluxe rooms. The resort has number of two storied cottages, each having four rooms and a nice verandah between two rooms surrounded by flowering trees.
Rooms are quite large with good size comfortable bed. The bathroom is functional with running hot and cold water, but is small in size. A mini fridge and tea/ coffee maker is provided.
Location of the resort is good on main road leading to the National park and has ample parking.
The food is served at a large bar cum restaurant is delicious. The service is excellent and staff is very courteous and efficient. The evening tea/coffee get together is enjoyable.
Over all it was a enjoyable weekend stay in the midst of a forest area just about 6/7 hours drive from Delhi.

We stayed for 3 nights in mid December. The hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming. As there were not many residents at this time, the service received was even better. The food in the restaurant was quite tasty, and the chef could cater to individual requirements to some extent.
Evening entertainment was also enjoyable. WiFi in reception area.
The rooms were quite spacious, although the bathroom facilities were a bit dated and room heaters were needed.
Location is very convenient for tiger safaris.
All in all a very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Welcom Heritage, we believed, would be as good as ITC considering their endorsement but we were quite disappointed with the rooms and its facilities. The good things first - The location is perfect, closest to the forest as it is bang across the forest occupied by one of the oldest tigers there. The gardens and landscape within the resort was amazing. The staff are friendly though less in number so the ratio of guests to staff works out to be a disadvantage. The Chef there is pretty sweet, Mr Jha who after some prodding and encouragement turned out good dishes. It seems he was apparently advised by whoever to cater or pander to 'white' tourists and thus the pathetic food on the day we arrived (for which he received quite a mouthful from us). Thereafter, he produced some wonderful dishes especially tandoor chicken and wonderful soft idlis for breakfast. Mr Chowdary in the dining area deserves a special mention. Warm, genuine and caring, guests will certainly feel better after being subjected to some not so good food (that is if u don't compl and ensure that you get what you need). We befriended the dining and kitchen staff and thus got a better deal than most would in the circumstances.

Now the bad - the rooms are bad, the aesthetics terrible, the bedding sponge-like certain to increase any back disorder you might have, the plumbing ancient, the powder rooms are the worst with an old Bucket, mug and a plastic shower curtain supposedly separating the wet and dry area which it can't. The staff are attentive, try their best but there is nothing the poor things can do to improve these sad state of affairs. The swimming pool is tiny and surprise surprise, though it is open till 9, there are no lights in the pool (they had gone bad we were informed). It does not boast of a gym so pl stick to walking in the area for all your exercise.

The Welcom Group can certainly do well to invest and improve things or else they will soon lose out to the smart new Hotels that will soon come up in the vicinity. I did complain to the Head office and they were certainly helpful along with Mr Singh, the Manager who took special care but we wish we did not have to complain at all in the first place to drum up some required action on behalf of the staff.

A special mention for the staff in the reception area, they are warm and courteous. We enjoyed the narrative of their safari in charge Mr Bhupendra who regaled us with the entire history of the Tigers and certain stories that kept us wanting for more. I still keep in touch with him. Our journey was truly complete thanks to him. Wishing Welcom resorts do their bit to live upto their name and fame.

Awesome place to stay in Ranthambore just opposite to the Jungle.

Ambiance - 4 stars (Cottage style big rooms, good greenery with big lawns, nice pool, but washrooms little outdated)
Cleanliness - 4 stars
Food - 5 stars(all the meals during 2 days stay in the resort and had a tasty food over here with lots of variety)
Bar - just a basic bar, needs to improve to attract visitors
Staff - very good and helpful. They were always on their toes serving guests and were accepting all the requests.
Wi-Fi - Only at reception
Room service - could be better
Location - 5 star (Ranthambore fort & the wildlife reserve is about 10 minutes away and the Madhopur city is also 10 minutes away)
Hotel Service - 5 star (From arranging Safari's to ensure we were able to relax our way in the evening)

We enjoyed our 2 days stay and had an awesome time here.
