Of all the places we stayed at in India, this was by far the worst, as well as the most disproportionately priced. For 5500 rupees - an amount that usually guarantees substantial comfort in India - we had a dirty (shabby, under furnished) room, a cold shower (the mysteries of which were only revealed to us later upon asking) and obscenely bad food (once glance at the egg curry and we firmly decided to stick to the roti). The linen had not been washed, the grounds looked like a construction site and it has the atmosphere of a dying shopping mall. Twice in the one night we ended up retreating to the bar of the Aodhi hotel directly over the road and we spent the whole time there sipping our cocktails and enjoying the friendly service thinking 'geez, I wish we were staying here'. We constructively made our thoughts clown and the response was defensive, unapologetic and frankly obstinate. We were given a small discount to 4400 rupees for our discomfort, an amount that still far exceeded what we had paid for far superior hotels elsewhere. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
