The weather was excellent in the month of may .......therefore that added a plus point in the stay.We experienced light showers too.The ambiance of the hotel was good and they also prepared a dish on our request. The only pinch which i had was there was no discipline in the pool area , in terms of swimming attire.Guest swam in the pool with their undergarment and this was really disgusting.

We stayed as a family group during a trip around Rajsathan. The check-in process was slightly painful and our questions about game drives in the nature reserve were answered with blank looks which was not the best start to our stay. However, things improved. We were staying in a suite which was huge and the bedroom fit an extra bed very comfortably. There was a balcony looking over the pool which was lovely in the morning although was looked over by other rooms. The meal we had on our first night was slightly disappointing due to a very dry Chicken Tikka, but our complaint was dealt with swiftly by the brilliant waiter, Dhool. The next day, the food was much better. We have a hunger-quneching grilled sandwich at lunchtime by the pool and our evening meal was delicious.
Dhool made our stay at the Aodhi due to his sheer enthusiasm and jolliness.
In addition, the hotel management were very quick to pick up on any less than positive ratings in our service questionnaire. Which was, more, welcome attentiveness.

I give it 4.5 actually. Mr U Singh, the manager coming round and chatting with the guests ensuring their comforts, was enough to convince me. It oozes hospitality. All else was a bonus, the fabulous setting, the rooms, the staff, the service, the LOT!
Food had room for improvement, but hats off to them because they produced a chicken dish in addition to the buffet just for us - not because we requested it, only commented whether there was any on the buffet(!)
Yes the shower curtains need to be longer!! But hey, as soon as I asked room service whether they had any bath mats, he said they'll come and clean it as soon we inform them - which they did! gr8!
PS. loved the parrots :)

Aodhi is very calm and quiet hotel. Khumbhalgarh itself is a place to relax..there is a fort that is worth a visit..in khumbhalgarh there are only 5-6 hotel options in total..if u want a relaxing place then this hotel definitely suits u..the food quality is average n options are few..but still aodhi will attract u towards its spell bound beauty! The rooms are good n clean! The evening pool side music is soothing..overall the property is worth for families without kids. The staff is also courteous n helpful. We enjoyed our stay at aodhi specially the evenings!

On the plus side: comfortable room, great views from the balcony, dining staff very helpful and friendly. Food good.

On the minus side: the shower produced what I can only describe as a good solid dribble (though the water was nice and hot), the shower curtain wasn't long enough, so the floor got wet (and very slippery), and the bathroom just smelled damp. Reception staff offhand and not particularly helpful - we were told the wrong time for meals, and had to ask twice for extra blankets.

This is a beautiful, serene, lovely place. It's set in peaceful countryside close to the Kumbhalgarh Fort (a bit of a walk, but just a couple of minutes by car). It looks pretty, especially at dusk and night when lights illuminate the stone walls. There's a nice pool, beside which there's a good cultural show with traditional music and dancing in the evenings. There were two coachfuls of tour groups staying at the same time as me, and there seemed to be a nice friendly atmosphere at The Aodhi in the evenings.

The restaurant -- where you'll want to eat because there aren't really any alternatives nearby -- was very good, though a bit pricy. The buffet looked nice, but I was being extra cautious after a recent bout of gastro. So, although it wasn't on the menu, the chef made a nice, non-spicy butter chicken for me. Breakfast was very good, with an excellent buffet of fruit, Indian and Western dishes, juice, toast, eggs cooked to order, etc. Excellent.

My room was very comfortable. The bed was warm and comfy. There was a good TV with a wide range of channels, including BBC and CNN news, and sofas and chairs in a sitting area to relax on. The fast, free wifi internet in the room was very welcome and reliable. It was overall a pleasant, comfortable room -- and I gather from chatting to other guests that some others were even nicer. Be prepared to encounter steps climbing up to your room, as all the rooms seemed to be scattered around the hillside overlooking the the pool/restaurant area. Fortunately there are bellboys rushing to carry your bags so they can earn the nice juicy tips they expect you'll pay (R50/bag seems to be expected).

Unfortunately there were a few significant problems, and these did marr the enjoyment of my stay. Management should address these:

1. Don't get Room 24. It's a nice room but it's above the kitchen and the guys are calling out all hours, chopping and banging. This is really upsetting in the middle of the night, when you're trying to enjoy being in a peaceful place for a restful sleep (the noise finally subsided after around 12.30pm, after I'd phoned reception twice to ask how much longer it would be going. It started again early the next morning). I slept well when it finally got quiet, but the hours of silence were too short. I should have been able to have a restful night's sleep in a hotel as expensive as this one is whose main selling point is that it's in serene, peaceful countryside.

2. The shower in my room was also dodgy: the water ran nice and hot at first, but turned chilly within about 90 seconds. It was also difficult to adjust the shower temperature because the cold water tap's handle was broken.

3. When leaving, I went to pay for my dinner by credit card. They advertise at reception that they accept Visa, Mastercard and AMEX, so I'd had dinner expecting to pay in this way. But on checkout I was told I'd need to pay by cash because their connection was down. This was a problem: I'd been travelling in country areas for several days and was very low on cash because ATMs were few and far between. Fortunately my driver came to the rescue and loaned me the cash -- but how embarrassing!! (drivers don't earn much...) The hotel should have a manual backup way to accept credit cards even if the line is down, especially as they claimed that in country areas like this this happens regularly (interestingly the wifi was working just fine, but they wouldn't let me pay online). Or it shouldn't advertise that it takes cards -- then I would have made sure I only ate what I could afford to pay cash for.

4. Be aware that there's nowhere here for drivers to sleep -- apart from their vehicles. Apparently there used to be rooms in the hotel for drivers, but these are now used as storerooms. As this hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, that leaves drivers sleeping in the car or coach (one driver told me there is a guesthouse nearby, but it's filthy and uncomfortable so the car/coach is a much more attractive option). As just about every guest at this hotel is likely to have been brought here by a driver, this expensive hotel should do better and cater for those drivers. It was chilly when I stayed, though fortunately the temperatures weren't extreme, but it would be terrible for drivers on freezing winter nights. As it was, I didn't rest easily knowing that my poor driver -- after concentrating on busy and difficult roads, and looking after me so well all day, with a similar day ahead -- was trying to sleep in a car when I was cosily tucked up in a comfy bed.

Yes, I'd happily recommend this hotel, but only if you don't get a dud room (eg. Room 24 above the kitchen). And hopefully by the time you arrive management will have resolved the other problems outlined in this review.

Room Tip: Don't get Room 24. It's a nice room but it's above the kitchen and the guys are calling...

1. Online booking does not offer all the rate options. The booking modification request through email not responded at all. On reaching the hotel the receptionist says that if we would have called them for a booking they would have given better rates and discounts also.
2. The food is miserably average in terms of value, taste, options and anything else that you can think of.
3. There is no recreation and/or club facilities available in the hotel. The swimming pool is decently average but they should think of something to make it usable as the water tends to remain icy cold throughout the day.
4. Most importantly there is no running hot water in the bathrooms. I personally got stuck in the middle of my bath when the hot water went off suddenly. The hotel staff says that the bathrooms have some liters capacity of hot water which once over takes half an hour to replenish.
