I stayed in this hotel for two nights on a trip through the major sites of Rajasthan. From the outside it looks like a decently nice hotel, but once I walked through the doors I immediately thought otherwise. The reception desk service is slow and unhelpful; the staff could not provide me with a city map and when I checked in omitted telling me several pieces of information that would have been helpful to know about the hotel, such as that my room would not be cleaned if I did not leave my key at the desk when I went out for the day (found this out the hard way when I came home that night), or that I had to call reception to turn on the hot water for the shower (this was not true at any other large hotel with a central water heater that I stayed at during my trip). The common areas of the hotel are dingy and dirty, including the ground floor public restroom that has no toilet paper or towels and dead cockroaches all over the floor. The staircases that are dark and uninviting, and the hallways are littered with days old room service dishes that haven't been picked up. My first sight upon the elevator doors opening to my floor was a dilapidated door to a balcony that isn't in use, padlocked with a chain and huge lock that gives off the air of a prison instead of a hotel. My room did have a clean, comfortable bed, and a flat screen TV, and the floor of the room was clean enough. However, the en suite bathroom was dingy and musty, infested with ants, and had problems with hot water as mentioned above. There were bath towels in the room that were clean but no hand towel was provided, and there was a wire running across the back of the sink that was in danger of getting wet all the time and potentially a major safety hazard. The room was uninsulated, and so every noise from the multiple pigeons nesting on my windowsill to every person walking down the hall reverberated and kept us awake at night. This was amplified by the exceptionally rowdy other guests in the hotel shouting and slamming doors late at night while I was staying there, which I can't say for sure is always the case but I would guess that it might be. The hotel is under the flight path for planes landing at the nearby airport, which added even more to the cacophony of this place. Thankfully it wasn't that cold at night; it would definitely have been freezing for lack of insulation. The hallway outside my room had pigeon droppings all over the floor, which isn't a surprise since the windows on all of the hallways of the hotel are open without screens, inviting birds inside the building. The breakfast was lukewarm and uninviting, with none of the variety I experienced at other hotels, and the coffee and tea were weak. The location is decent, in the same Ranbanka area as multiple other mid-level hotels, but definitely not walking distance from the old city and all of its charm. In short, don't stay here.
