“The room service guy may have tasted your lassi/soup on the way!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

I actually caught a guy tasting the soup while he was on his way to deliver it to a room. SHABRI KE BER YAAD AA GAYE.

Only the old guy at the reception talks nicely and that is the closest you get to HOSPITALITY there. The rooms have a fair size but almost everything just exists. The lights dont work, the room service staff doesnt want you around.

It is the last place where you can get accommodation when entire Jodhpur is sold out. I checked-in for the same reason.

Typical government service. Thought Rajasthan Tourism is the most attraction for Indians as well as foreigner, Rajasthan Government is not serious about their tourists’ satisfaction. Canteen food and canteen staffs both are good. Rooms are average. Intercom facility is available but not working because it is government hotel (as per talking with one of the staff member ). Not worst but Not the best experience. If your budget is average than its nice.

My bad experience started the minute my family of 8 entered the hotel. Nobody to help us get the luggage in. Rooms have no intercoms and call bells dont forget so forget any kind of assistance or room service. Bedside lamps are broken and out of order in all rooms. We had 4 rooms so i can say ALL. Common areas are in pathetic condition with heavy sepages and platser torning out. Half of the light in the room dont work and manager told us of the problems they face because of beaureaucracy blah blah blah. In almost 18 years of my staying in hotels all over the country, i was told that one room getd only one small soap bar. Thats it. Use it for toilet, bath whatever you wish!!!! Rooms are large but spartan. The only saving grace was their travel desk. Helped us with city tour as well as travel ahead. Overall a very bad and embarrassing experience since it was me who put my family through all this

Since I have stayed in RTDC hotels in the past therefore I already knew what to expect. We booked rooms in Ghoomar because it had a car parking space and was centrally located. The rooms are spacious and clean but nothing fancy at all. The towels, bed linen and the room furniture are clean but are old. But every room in the upper floors has a big balcony and 24hrs hot water is available. However, the location is very good and the hotel is very safe. Overall, for people traveling on budget looking for spacious room and safe car parking- Ghoomaar can be considered.

Room Tip: Opt for rooms from 1st floor onwards- ground floor rooms don't have balconies and feels bit ding...

Hotel was located on main road away from hustle and bustle of city, only thing is that railway line is opposite the road. You will like this place if you stays in government accommodation and familiar with their work culture, rooms are large with high ceiling space. Maintenance of the hotel is average. Hotel has lift facility and can arrange taxi and guide for you at reasonable rates. Local site seeing facilities including desert and village safari are also available at the travel desk.

Limited variety of vegetarian food are available here that too of hotel staff choice, food was plain and simple. They serve only tea in room. Intercom works in some room only. Dinning hall roof was leaking due to rain so 40% area was not in use.

Charges of room and food are reasonable compared to other properties in town. Staff was humble and helpful though slow in response.

Its a nice hotel with the regular facilities of a hotel. The rooms are nice and are big enough for a decent hotel room. The hotel is well located near the railway station. It also has good space inside the premises and also houses shops wherein you can shop for rajasthani dresses and articles.

Room Tip: Take any room. Most rooms are basic with A/C or w/o A/C

This is an RTDC hotel and we picked it primarily for its good location and we were in transit. It's quite centrally located for transit travelers. One should not expect the service benchmarks of some of the private hotel options over here. The place meets the basic amenities & cleanliness criteria but that's it - Gloomy, no lifts & unreliable room locks! The only bright side of our stay was a short walk to Priya hotel & the delicious Marwari Thali served there.
