“Good place without the camelsafari-selling-hassle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

We stayed here for 4 nights during the festival . Our emails were promptly answered. The pick-up was already waiting and so was our balconyroom. A really nice decorated room with bathroom. The rooftop was great and so was the food. You have a good view from the balcony and the roof. The busstation is 3 minutes away but far enough to have no noise from it. The entrance to the fort is a 10 minutes walk. The bazar is 5 minutes. Recommanded!

Room Tip: The balconyroom are more expensive but bigger in size and with a nice seating.

Have been here for a few days no, Nomads was recommended by staff at previous guesthouse in Pushka, Aladin the owner met me off the bus and brought me to the guesthouse and has proved to be a great manager and a really nice guy to spend time with.

Rooms are clean as it gets, nicely decorated, rooftop area is lovely and has a great view of the fort, food is also great.

Aladin is also great for organising busses and camel safari really honestly.

Can't recommend this place enough, will be back for sure!

We had the honour of being Alex and Aladin's first booking guests back in September 2012. At that time Nomad's was not on TripAdvisor so I did not review it at the time. Recommended by a gentleman we met in Delhi who knows Alex, we took a chance on Nomad's and were met at the station which saved a whole load of tout hassle. Room was basic but nice and great value. I was ill while we were in Jaisalmer and nothing was too much trouble for Alex and Aladin - Alex even accompanied me on a rather bizarre trip to the hospital and barracaded the doctor's office door so curious men couldn't come in a stare!! I didn't expect personal bodyguarding to be part of the service!! We took the mixed safari which involved some jeep travel and also camel trekking. The night in the desert was wonderful and we were totally spoilt by Daniel and his companion. When we left, it was late at night and Alex & Aladin drove us personally to the station. As long as you're not looking for luxury, I cannot recommend this place enough and sincerely wish all the staff the greatest success. They deserve it.

Nomads is run by Alladin and Alex, a very freindly and welcoming couple. We had been travelling in india for about a month, and this is the first place we felt truly relaxed and at home. We had a balcony room, which we think is worth the extra, as this makes the room feel much more airy and bright. The room itself was nicely decorated and clean, only need some coathooks :-). The bathrooms are very basic, could do with re decorating them. The rooftop is great and the food is freshly prepared and tasty. No pressure for camel trekking, but we did their trek. It was expensive compared to others but worth it.Overall excellent value for money and was a pleasure to stay, Alladin and alex even took us to the train station at midnight to see us off. The staff are also great, a big thanks to them all.

Room Tip: Balconey room next to the kitchen can be a bit noisey, try to get the middle or far end rooms.

Since this wasn't our first visit to Jaisalmer, I first thought there would be problems when we got a nice clean double room for only 200rs. So we prepared our selves for hassle about camel safari. But we were totally wrong. Alex, Aladin, Fathan(?) and the rest of the staff were so nice to everyone and really seemed to like what they were doing.
Off course they have Camel Safaris, but you will have to ask them.

Also, a nice place attracts nice visitors, so thanx everybody for a really pleasant couple of days.
The food is quite good, but it is a good idea to order the food before you get hungry, cause you'll have to wait a while.

Ithink the rooms range between 200 and 600rs.

No problem with powerbreaks, nor do they turn off the electricity from the outside (like some other places do).

The onlything I can think of to complain about is the beds, wich are quite hard and a little uncomfy.
On the rooftop there is good space for the kids to play and to relax on. The whole place is quiet and cool.

If we ever make it back to Jaisalmer, there is no soubt about where we will stay.

Nomads is a superb little guesthouse with great views of Jaisalmer's sandstone fort. Aladin, Alex & team were incredibly welcoming and helpful from the moment they collected me at 5.30am from the train station. With only 7 rooms and a relaxing rooftop area there's a nice community vibe, and we all enjoyed a trip to the Desert Festival finale - 50km out of town in the Sam sand dunes - organised by the team. The Tibetan chef produces fresh and tasty Indian fare, but also some wonderful Tibetan specialities - try the momos and pasta soup! One of my most enjoyable stays in India thus far.
