“Lovely, friendly, relaxing hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Having read a large number of previous reviews, thought this hotel might not be VfM. Quite the contrary, this is a beautiful hotel with wonderful, helpful and friendly staff and great facilities. The food and the menu were of a high standard and in our view good VfM. Yes it is cheaper in town but nowhere near as relaxed or as good. It is a couple of km out of town, but taxis are close and if you have your own driver the distance is no problem.

Only slight drawbacks were bedroom window looking out on to a blank wall, and slow welcome on first arrival.

Highly recommended hotel that is well worth the money. Good VfM.

Room Tip: Rooms with views of the inner garden and pool are probably the best. All rooms will be quiet.

We stayed two nights while in Jaislemer at this very lovely hotel. It is about 3km out of the centre of town, but as such offers some respite from the dust and the chaos of downtown. The rooms were a little dark, but well appointed and largely felt clean, although not spotless. The swimming poool was huge and looked very inviting only in Jan it was too cold to swim. The food in the restaurants for dinner was good, although a little expensive. Breakfast was just average. The hotel book shop has some excellent books and you can bargain on their price. I regret not buying a couple now. The hotel does its best to entertain guests with evening live music and in the mornings a man on stilts at the entrance to the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor so you can open your curtains without worrying people will walk b...

we took a suite seeing the photos but were disappointed when we actually saw it. the staff was also ok. however the food in the resturant was execellent. my advise would be take normal room than a suite in this hotel. very ordinary compared to the phots.

Room Tip: take a normal room and hotel has no view so any room is fine

The Fort Rajwada is the second best hotel in Jalsaimer. It is indeed well maintained for a 12 year old hotel and we enjoyed our stay here. The check in process was swift. Staff are professional. Located just 2km away from the city, this beautifully decorated hotel is situated at a nice quiet surrounding and occupy a large area. The lobby is very beautifully decorated and is most impressive when lit up at night. The welcome included a garland and a cold drink while we checked in. Our room located on the second floor face the pool. The staff especially Sushant was very helpful and friendly. There were tea making facilities and complimentary water, a bowl of fruit and cookies. The robe, slippers and toiletries provided were a nice touch. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. There are nice paintings and decorations in the room, at the lovely bar and throughout the hotel. We enjoyed walking around to enjoy them. Breakfast the next morning consisted of a buffet spread of poha, boiled eggs, sausages, uttapam with sambhar and fresh fruits. We also had lunch at the hotel restaurant, soup was great. There is a puppet show, acrobatics and stalls selling souvenirs in the evening but the occupancy was low during our stay so there was no audience. They charge for internet and wifi.

We were at this hotel for 4 Days.
Rooms are big. Hotel lay out is great.
Wonderful staff. Food is very good. Hotel looks like Haveli/ Fort. Very good live show. Clean rooms. Away from main road. Very active place by overseas tours.

Room Tip: Take rooms on second flor inback.

The property is located just outside the main city on a link road connecting Jaisalmer with Jodhpur and Bikaner. Its closer to railway station, not more than 10 mins drive. Rooms are of decent size and adequately furnished. Food in the restaurant is good but a little overpriced, breakfast was nice. The evening program comprising some folk music and dance as well as acrobatics was nice. The hotel had minimal occupancy when we visited the place. Check-in and check-out process was short and swift. The look and feel of the whole proeprty is nice and they also have a roof-top bar where one can enjoy sunset with a couple of drinks.

It is a very good property in Jaisalmer. Though it is highly priced but you get experiance of staying in a small palace. We found everything in order including food and room but worst thing we experiance was their discrimination to Indian people. Hotel's major business is from Indian people but management give them secondary treatment - like restuarant is different for Foreigner and different for Indian, If you are a foreigner you would get good hospitality but if you are an Indian you would realise their secondary treatment.

Room Tip: Rooms facing swimming pool are better but at night you may get disturb due to activities going on at...
