I've never left a Trip Advisor review before but though I must do once back to the UK because the service here was that good.
On arrival we were given a complimentary cup of masala chai whilst our bags were taken up to the room which was a nice touch and welcome to Jaisalmer.
The hotel is only 4/5 years old but done in an old style and very tastefully done. Our bedroom was lovely with a fabulous feature wall, the bathroom not quite as nicely done as the room but was clean enough. The rooftop terrace was a fantastic place to have breakfast and both the food and the service were first class. There were also cushioned seating areas up on the top with a great view over the old fort which was about a 10 minute walk away, quite nice as it gives you a chance to see the town on the way to the fort itself.
We only stayed for one night but the following morning when i checked what time breakfast service was until, the owner said we could have it whenever it was convenient. When it came to checking out, our train wasn't until the afternoon and so he said that as they weren't full, we could leave our packed bags in the room whilst we spent the day our and about and if it was still free later, we could change before leaving, no problem whatsoever.
We were given complimentary water on arrival and also offered some on departure, a first for us, in fact we'd just bought some for our journey anyway but after thanking the owners, he got the hotel boy to bring us a couple of complimentary cans of coke instead whilst we waited for the auto he'd booked for us.
Finally, half way to the station in the auto, I realised I'd left my brand new sunglasses on the hotel reception desk. I asked the auto driver to stop whilst I explained this, but as I did, the hotel owner Dilip called the auto driver and asked him to wait. Two minutes later he pulled up on his motorbike with my glasses.
Dilip and his partner are working really hard to provide great service at a really nice hotel that doesn't blow the budget and are relying on word of mouth to keep the guests coming. I'd have no hesitation recommending Pleasant Haveli as they simply could not have done anything else to make our stay a better one
