Naru and Krishna went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Location is great very close to the fort but also in a nice quiet spot. Clean rooms and the most comfortable bed in India. Bathrooms are very fancy! Rooftop is so relaxing and during wedding seasons you can enjoy watching the weddings of the street! Great food too! We got our train wrong and Naru went out of his way to get us to where we needed to go. Would go back in a heartbeat!

After a lengthy (and manic) journey from Mumbai to Jaisalmer it was great when we finally arrived at the Hotel Pleasant Haveli and were instantly made to feel like we had not just arrived, but (thanks to Naru and Krishna and Kahn) that we had come home.
After travelling through both the north and south of India we can say with the utmost sincerity that the when it comes to hospitality, Hotel Pleasant Haveli puts the competition to shame. With a great, (and quiet) view, beautiful sandstone rooms, delicious food and exceptional service there is only one place to stay in Jaisalmer and it is here.
The cherry on the cake was when we had already left Jaisalmer and Naru (owner) called the next morning to make sure that we were safely en route to Ranthambhore National Park.
We would go back to Jaisalmer in an instant just to stay here and relive the trust and hospitality of Naru, Krishna and Kahn.

I have deliberately delayed writing this review until I had been home a couple of weeks, but on reflection, I still rate this as the best place we stayed at in 6 weeks in India.
Their email communication and booking process was straight forward and prompt and the good vibes started right from when we got to Jaisalmer and the rickshaw man provided by the Pleasant Haveli was standing there with my name on a placard.
We had deliberately selected a hotel that was not inside the fort and I still believe that is the right choice. The location of the Pleasant Haveli is good, just up a nice little side street from the main town square and market place and a 10 minute walk to the main entrance to the fort.
Besides helping with the overall fort environment by not staying there, it also meant we did not run the gauntlet of the usual touts who line the narrow alley ways within the fort. On the contrary down in the town, it is more laid back and while the traders are keen to sell, they are not in your face unless you engage with them first.
Back to the Pleasant Haveli. We got the room just behind the reception desk and it was large and comfortable and we did not notice any excessive noise mentioned by some reviewers. The two main features of this hotel are the owner and staff and the magnificent rooftop area / restaurant, which is normally reserved for hotel guests.
We stayed for 4 nights and had a chance to get to know the owner (Naru), who took us for a drive in his brand new car, the manager (Krishna) who made sure we were always comfortable and looked after and introduced us to his local beer, Bullet, and Khan, who acts as the head waiter up on the rooftop from dawn to dusk and beyond.
The roof top has a covered area as well as the two open areas, so you can also go there for lunch, but for a bit of variety we usually had lunch down on the square somewhere and had our evening meals at the Pleasant Haveli. All food is cooked freshly and they are available to provide food and cold drinks at any time of the day.
There are only 9 rooms in this hotel, if you stay there, you are really made to feel like one of the extended family.
I would strongly recommend you include Jaisalmer on any trip to Rajasthan and if you can get into the Pleasant Haveli, then that is the place to stay.

We rested at the hotel «Pleasant Haveli» (Jaisalmer) in October 2012. This is a wonderful hotel! Very quiet and cozy. No noise. Interior and exterior of the hotel is made in the style of havelis. Paintings and artifacts, which fill the hotel, create a charming atmosphere of old Rajasthan.
Our room was large, clean and very cozy. Good furniture, TV, kondetsioner, beautiful interior made the stay very comfortable. Nice and clean bathroom.
The hotel has a restaurant located on the roof of the building. Very tasty cuisine restaurant at very affordable prices! The roof opens up a very nice view of the city, the fort and the surrounding area. In the evening, this is a truly magical experience!
Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.
I strongly recommend to my friends and to all travelers choose a hotel «Pleasant Haveli» to live and stay in Jaisalmer.
Hotel «Pleasant Haveli» - one of the best hotels for our week of travel to many cities in India!

This has to be the best place to stay in Jaisalmer. The owner,Naru, his assistant Krishna and the whole team could not be more heulpful. We stayed 2 nights separated by a night in the desert and both deluxe room we stayed in were first class with very high standard shower rooms. We ate there 3 times and the food was excellent and good value. We were picked up from the rail station and dropped off with no charge. Also I wanted to send a package back to the UK. They helped get the goods properly packed and sealed but as we were leaving on a Sunday the post office was closed. They made enquiries as to cost, I gave them the money and they posted thecparcel the next day. I then got an email from them giving me the tracking number. Service beyond the call of duty but that was a constant in everything they did. If you go to Jaisalmer stay there. You won't regret it.

Room Tip: All rooms we saw were good

Beautiful hotel. We were picked up by the hotel from the railway station early in the morning and despite arriving at the hotel at 0630 were showen straight away to our fantastic room. The hotel is spotlessly clean with a comfortable roof top restaurant serving goog food and drinks overlooking the fort and local families going about their lives in the street below.
Supurb location a short walk from the fort and bazzars of Jaisalmer.
Staff and owner were just so helpful and stored our luggage even when we had checked out for tow days while we went on a camal safari and even gave us a room to change and shower in upon our return.
We were then given a free lift to the railway station. Cannot fault this hotel, the owner or the staff. Thank you for a great stay.
