“Stayed here for three weeks in June/July...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2010

Stayed here for three weeks in June/July. Overall satisfied, everyone was exceptionally nice, courteous, and kind. Only downside for me was the food and selection. Most of the time the food on the buffet was cold. As a result, what I selected for breakfast was based on what was warm (steaming when I removed the lid) rather than what I wanted. The have made to order eggs, inlets, pancakes, waffles, dosas, and plenty of breads, fruits, and juices to go along with the not so hot buffet options. Since I was there on business, and the hours kept me out late, I thought their 'after 11 pm' menu was very limited given the three week stay, got kinda bored fast. But over all great hotel. I had previously spent 4 weeks at Le Meridien and I prefer the Westin eventhough the items I list as drawbacks are to the positive with LeMeridien.

This is easily the best hotel in Pune at the present time, i can say that confidently having travelled to Pune 10 times in the last 3 years and stayed at 4 other hotels and visited a few others.

I have stayed twice now firstly in March for two weeks and then again in June and I was very happy with the hotel.

In my opinion there are two stand out aspects to this hotel.

First is the food which is easily as good as any hotel or restaurant i have eaten at in India and better than some regarded as the best. There are three restaurants in the hotel an Itallian, India and a buffet/ general restaurant with a particularly good choice and selection.

The second is the space and design of the hotel. This is a big hotel with lots of space in the public areas, it has a large coffee shop area and a good sized bar which has a buzz at the weekends. It's a nicely designed hotel with tasteful and contemporary art work spread throughout.

The rooms are a good size to a modern standard with window into bath/shower room. The Bed and quality of linens are very good and helped superb sleep every night.

Steve

I am a frequent visitor to Pune and often end up staying at hotels during to extended business meetings. I have stayed at quiet a few good hotels in Pune including the Le Meridian and Park Orchid. However, my latest stay at The Westin was a much better experience than the others. The ambience is just superb. Lobies are spacious, lifts are good and the pool which is besides the cafe on the first floor is just too good. The rooms are definitely a surprise with a huge bathroom and quite different from those contemporary ones found in the Taj and Intercontinentals. Hotel staff is courteous, rates are higher than the other hotels in the town. The breakfast spread is the best. Definitely, worth a try.

WestIn is the Best hotel in Pune, Its locality is super cool place . All major places to visit like koregaon park , Kalyani nagar are near by . As well as Pubs like Hard Rock are very close.
Apart from the location , The ambience and rooms are very good.
The room service is fine and food is just ok (not that great ).
Overall it was a great experience.

Though the reason for staying at the plush Westin Resort for a night in Pune stemmed largely out of the redemption of miles accumulated through Starwoods Rewards Program, the experience at the resort, was definitely memorable and distinctly sublime !

Right from the perfect location of the hotel along the Mula Multha river in the tony Koregaon park area to its impeccable service, everything about the Westin resort is stylish and swanky. Its true that we stayed at the hotel just within a few days of its launch, yet the service and experience was warm, efficient and very sincere, not like a situation where it seemed of a temporary nature to impress its first few guests eagerly. Right from the free upgradation to a suite, to the unique experience of having a smiling staff member escort you to your room or a restaurant each time, the service does seem to set new standards. The rooms are pristine, plush yet cozy and homely, with colorful vistas and charming views of the river. The main restaurant / coffee shop (the options are quite a few) has excellent views all around, and some great sumptous food, with just too many gourmet options. The place has a fancy nightclub as well, which apparently comes alive on weekends. The gym is pretty spacious and well maintained; the Spa is well known and one of the key features of the resort - not suprisingly, the prices are fairly steep. And then there is the awesome location - right next to Koregaon Park, there is no dearth of eateries, cafes and bars to hit at night; so the stay at the hotel is complete in every respect.

So if the purse strings can be loosened, go for this resort - its perhaps an extravagance but then an extravagance you can do well to splurge upon !
