“Great view from valley side room but lower at cleanliness.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2011

Nice hotel with one of the great valley views to offer in Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar. Two kilometers before the Panchgani market and very near to Sydney Point. Hotel offers some in-door activities but I recommend personal car for taking rounds here and there. A little expensive on holidays and weekends but overall nice experience to stay. Would like to recommend others.

Room Tip: Second Floor valley side rooms like Jr. Executive and Executive suites are nice.

the stay was great and i will be back soon. The view from the valley front rooms are breath taking you can see the beautiful Krishna river. They even provide tents, there are 4 tennis courts, a very well equiped gym for the fittness addicts.

Room Tip: The rooms are very spacious beautiful wooden furniture perfect with an earthy look.

Ravine is a great place to stay in Panchgini indeed! I have stayed here on three occasions in the last 5 years. Albeit, there is an up side and a down side:

Up side: Great view, Melting Pot (hotel restaurant) offers great food and great view, clean, well maintained, plenty of parking, last minute room available for as low as Rs. 2420!

Down side: These are really just small little things that keep a otherwise great place from being perfect - No coffee/tea maker in the rooms, bathroom fittings although of good quality and maintenance can use better fitting, no alcohol served in the restaurant

Room Tip: Even if they are full when you call before hand, its worth it to try for a last minute booking (in c...

This hotel is located at one of the best locations and is just at entrance of panchgani city from Wai side. Valley plus is indeed the best choice for it provides the best view of Krishna valley. Cleanliness in the room was very good. Bed, television, were good too. But no freshner in bathroom. No requirement for AC though each room has one. The kids playing area, valley viewing deck, games room are great but when we went in june 2011 the swimming pool was not greatly maintained and hence had tons of flies.
They have a very good facility for movie viewing for the family for just rs 200 per movie in a small theater hall with a wide variety of movies.
Bournvita in room would cost about 85 rs in room and plain tea 40 rs per cup which is very pricely and not too great for taste. We found out some LUCKY bakery and restaurant in main town near the circle for some amazing brune bread (lots of variety of fresh bread) along with great tea and coffee. Stomach full of this breakfast costed us 80 Rs.This lucky restaurant is 1 km drive form ravine towards the city.
No complementary breakfast, and the steep high pricing of food in the Ravine Restaurant were a turn down.
Try purohit thali near the lucky restaurant and its not a miss. Extremely famous Jaffer bhais Delhi Darbar is also recently opened in panchgani for delicious biryanis and kababs.
Ravine is indeed the palace of the winds. Not to be missed. Sidney point is just very very close to the hotel. Sitting in your room viwing the valley and the beautiful view, sipping a cuppa is far more comfortable than the agony of pricey food. Dont miss it.

Must read - Very bad experience... (got an injury and 7 stitches on my hand) When the rooms were taken as ac rooms... There was no ac remote given or provided in the room... So we couldnt even start ac.. Complained thrice for the ac remote, but ac remotes were not delivered.... The shower area is so small that even 1 person can't stand or sit to have his/ her bath. The glass sliding doors which are given for bathing area are not working properly and not even fixed properly, I was having bath and because of the water was too hot I turned the cold water faucet that time by mistake my hand slightly touched the glass and the sliding glass came off on me... I got hurt and it started bleeding... When my father went to complaint.. The manager took it so lightly and he said it is just a toughened glass... Nothing to worry... But I was bleeding heavily... They didn't even have a doctor their or he didn't even call any doctor for that... When we went to doctor we checked everything that time we saw 5 injuries and for 1of the injury I had to take 7 stitches...very bad management....

Hotel location is awesome. Panchgani & Mahabaleshwar is all about valleys and the various points of views. This hotel is on such a place where you can get all the views without going anywhere in the city.
Reception staff is not so helpful and friendly. Neither are they adjusting.
Restuarent is bad and service is delayed and horribly tiring though room service was much better.
We did not get a room cos we went last moment without any prior bookings. Being a peak season we still managed to get the tents and now I know why they were not taken. because the tents are located at valley edge and it was so windy (hopefully only on the day we visited) their that the roof of teh tent keeps going up-down & guup guup all night. We couldn't manage to sleep much but the weather was so awesome that we didn't feel tired at all. Don't take tents if you love your sleep though. But its a pleasure to stay in them.

Also we roamed about & checked a lot of hotels around the place but this was the best hotel at the rate offered.

Room Tip: Take tent if you love views.
