“Escape from urban jungle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

If you are looking for a homestay environment, this is a good place. The cottages are 100 year old, and were run as nunnery then, as told by owners. The place has always been run as a hotel by the Parsi owners 3rd gen now. The place gives you space and time to do your own thing, stroll around the property, sit under the tree, or just watch the sun set over the hills. Its truly a place when you do not want to do anything.
The rooms are basic yet clean, food good (for non veg) and service prompt by 2 young boys who eagerly appear on press of a bell. At Rs 1250 (for basic) and Rs 1550 (for delux) per person for stay and 3 meals, this is indeed good value for money. Call the owners directly for bookings.
If luxurious furnishings, furniture, air conditioned environment and a la carte food choices is what is essential for you, this is not the place for you. Yeah pure non veg may not like the food much.
The location is quiet good, with market walking distance from the hotel. The owners are nice and take personal interest.
For the quaint property, lovely wooded surroundings, golden sunset views I will go there again.

Room Tip: Ask for Delux room one with a private portico. There is only one.

Guys & Gals...
I went with my wife,bro & 6 month old daughter for 2 nites on 26th April 2012
Straight to the point...

1. Valve for money... 1850 Rs per person/per day , deluxe room & 3 times meal) ..... cause food was different ( Parsi style ) & prepared with care keeping in mind that families are around.

2. Very Prompt Service ( Room Boy shall be at ur doorstep at a push of the calling bell).

3.Rooms & Bathrooms are clean !!!!

4. You shall never be bothered for this & that from the reception........the Room is all yours.

Suggestion: Do not expect Luxury type environment.
You should have a car so you can travel around with ease as & when required.

Areas of Improvement: Hertaige type Cottages can be repaired eg: coloured so it looks more presentable & the Old design Houses take you back to the old era of living.

Always advisable for a get away from the MUMBAi heat !!!

Room Tip: Deluxe Room for that extra comfort !!!!

This is our first visit to panchgani and we were nt sure on where to stay. So we tried finding places based on trip advisor ratings. Thats whr we came across mount view.

The standard rooms are clean and give a heritage feel. The food is good too and has a parsi touch which may be bcos the owners are parsi (i assume they r). I think the best part is tht its run by its owners and so they take good care of their guests.

I highly recommend this place :)

I visited this hotel in end of june. The hotel view is very nice to enjoy and chill with not much to do there. The place is walking distance from the market..The interior of the rooms are quite nice and cozy and hygienic bathrooms....
They provide authentic parsi food and the breakfast was good with scrambled eggs and french toast. They also provide u bed tea whch includes milk toast wth butter whch is just awsme to have with rains hammering on the roof and fog outside.

Overall it was a nice experience. We had booked regular rooms which could accomodate 5 of us. No tv which was actually a bliss.

Room Tip: valley facing rooms are preffered.. awesome view.

Had stayed here as well a month or so back, the most awesome sunset you can ever see anywhere in Panchgani. The area surrounding the hotel is also very tranquil. The room we stayed in had a veranda as well, and the morning tea was brilliant. Had to order food a little earlier than expected, but was one of the best meals we had..authentic Parsi cuisine.

Room Tip: If you want to experience old world stay, then this one is it.

Have been visiting Panchgani practically every year and staying at Mount View with family & friends since almost 18 years and were very happy with the food and personal attention of Noshir till about 3-4 years back. The rooms are better than what they used to be but the quality of food & service has been deteriorating. The attendants would not understand simple Hindi. The bell was not working resulting in us having to walk all the way to the kitchen if we needed anything. The morning & evening tea would be left outside on the table without being informed. Menu for the day would not be known till closer to meal times. For three consecutive meals we were served chicken gravy with a little alteration in the taste. The quality and variety of food is not what it used to be. Felt very sad. There were other guests too who echoed our views.

Dear Madam

Greetings from Mount View Hotel Heritage

My name is Veerzad Khambata, son of Noshir Khambata. Having read your review, I understand that your last visit to our hotel has been quite a disappointing one. Its been over 3 years now since your last visit at our property and we have made several positive changes since then. If possible, please do give us another chance to try and change your views about us. We assure you that you will have a better experience than your last one. Thank you.

Well I have to say I fell in love with the view online...........and prayed that it should atleast be half as good.......I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was exactly as I wanted it to be.The view dominates everything else here.We were hungry and were served good dal rice with a non-verg dish..........the starters were excellent and were always hot and crisp........the quality of the food always had me looking forward to the next meal.......In our three day stay I guess we had nothing to complain about.............yes they don't serve Roti's but if you ask they do oblige......I ate Roti's for dinner on all three days.....we had excellent non-veg dishes n since we are pure non-vegetarians we could not ask for more............dishes like Biryani, bhendi fry, palak paneer, kheem pao.........were served....the family is very hospitable and the whole ambience makes you feel right at home...........I guess the simplicity and rustic feel is what makes this place so special.Veerzad is extremely cordial and very helpful...........never felt like guests in a hotel..........they always welcomes us as if we were visiting them..........Overall had a wonderful time.....would recommend to families who want a quiet peaceful stay and amazing non-veg food.

Room Tip: easy to locate...........amazing view n food
