I had an opportunity to stay in the hotel during my recent visit to Aurangabad. I was impressed with the clean sheets and the reasonably clean bathroom. I stayed for two nights comfortably. However, I returned to the same hotel later in the week for a night and was given a room on the first floor. Boy, was I in for a rude shock. The room was way too small, dirty and congested compared to the last one. There were no sofa, or even carpets on the floor. The paint from the walls were coming out, the bathroom seemingly hadn't seen a cleaning for years....and the worst of all- the room had this unbearable stench which just made me sick. I kept the windows open whole night but it made no difference at all. I even cleaned the table myself in the middle of the night which was seemingly dirtied by some creature long ago and probably never saw a mop (check attached picture). I wish I was brave enough to click a picture of the bathroom. It was my last day in the city which turned out to be quite miserable. I was charged the same price for this pathetic room and during the checkout, when I complained about the unhygienic levels in the room, the rather calm looking man at the reception wasn't quite interested in listening to me and seemingly wanted me to walk out.
However, there are some good things about the place. The restaurant offers pretty good food at moderate prices. Also of great help is the attached travel agency who can arrange or plan your sightseeing.
Panchavati is worth a try, as long as you stay away from Room No 105. Would also be a good idea to insist on seeing the room beforehand.
Make sure you have a look at the room before taking one up, and do stay away from that stinky mess o...
