“Nice enough but a bit Fawlty Towers”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2010

Walked in un-booked and was given an upgrade for rack rate, still a little steep at about $150, even for a suite. Very new, nice building and friendly enough front desk. The upgrade was to a suite which wasn't particularly wonderful but spacious enough. The pool and gym were both good but the fun really began when we went to bar for a drink before dinner. Walking into the room to very loud music, we were immediately confronted by a waiter who told us that one half of the tiny room was "reserved for a private party" but we were welcome to stand next to a small pool table onthe other wide. Straight to dinner instead which was okay. The worst thing was a phone call from the front desk at midnight saying we hadn't paid our bill in the restaurant and could they send it? At midnight? My partner said that she had paid it so I yelled at the front desk clerk and hung up, threatening him if he sent anyone to collect. In the morning, there was no mention of the incident and filled out a complain form but heard nothing. A very amateurishly run hotel. Stay at the Taj.

Dear Sir,

This is with reference to your recent stay at Lemon Tree Hotel, Aurangabad. May I apologize for the inconvenience faced by you at our lounge bar – Slounge and for the phone call received by you at midnight.

On that day, Slounge had a reservation for a group of approximately 20-25 people and that is why that section had been reserved for them. To rectify this, we have already started mentioning such information on a lobby board outside the bar. Regarding the late phone call made to you, that was an inadvertent mistake and we apologize for it once again. May I assure you that we will make every effort not only to rectify these issues, but to deliver a superior experience at Lemon Tree Hotels.

I would request you to write in to me at sumant.jaidka@lemontreehotels.com, the next time you plan a trip, so that I can personally make arrangements for your stay.

With best regards,
Yours sincerely,
Sumant Jaidka

My month's stay in Lemon Tree during March was extraordinary! I was treated with
upmost respect and enthusiasm-The fresh lemon atmosphere, cleanliness, efficiency, friendliness, food and comfort were all exceptional due to exceptional management and training of staff. The manager and all staff gave personal attention daily and provided me with quality service from the efficient housekeeping staff, greeters, friendly front desk efficiency and professional services, groundskeepers, pool cleaner, and restaurant service. The chef made sure each person was given individual request and the quality of food provided continental and Indian cuisine.
The rooms were impeccably clean and fresh. Families, business organizations and tourists would be a perfect place for all at the Lemon Tree in Aurangabad.
While inside the facilites you were relaxed in a beautiful tropical paradise -away from the bustling city but convenient to markets and services. Obviously, the management, training staff and sales management made sure each guest was treated with upmost respect, security and comfort to insure The Lemon Tree Hotel in Aurangabad would be the top hotel experience in Aurangabad. It was very to hard to leave and I would highly recommend families, individuals, business leaders to consider Lemon Tree your visiting home in Aurangabad!!!

Certainly, the Lemon Tree is a hotel which suits the needs of the European customer well - without exceeding expectations however.
The room is fine and clean enough, 3star quality. Shower curtains seem a little outdated. AC works fine. Breakfast is o.k., too.
The location is fine if you have a car but this is no walking area. A nice restaurant, cinema and cheap internet are within walking distance but that´s it. As a base for visiting Ellora and Ajanta, that does probably not matter much.
It is quiet enough and the pool looks nice. Staff was polite and helpful.
So, not much to criticize, but also little to make you enthusiastic about it.

Lemon Tree provides 5 star frills at budget prices. The rooms are very spacious. Complete toiletries kit with shaving equipment, toothbrush, toothpaste etc. is provided. They have a decent collection of books that can be borrowed and enjoyed in the room. A DVD player and DVD of choice is made available in the room on demand. The reception, room service and catering services were excellent.

The food, however, is nothing to talk about. Though they have tried experimenting with some innovative dishes in their dinner menu, the food lacks in terms of flavor. And during breakfast, I was able to spot ant infested muffins in the buffet.

Despite the goof-up on food, I would recommend this to others because it is great value for money and provides facilities which otherwise only the expensive 5 stars. Simultaneously, I would suggest skipping the meals here and eating elsewhere.

The best thing about this hotel is the way it is laid out, it has a beautiful view. Me n my family stayed in Lemon Tree Hotel for four days on our visit to Ajanta. It was a very comfortable, inexpensive, clean and friendly place. The reception, room service and catering services were excellent. The hotel organized our local sight seeing and visits to Ajanta and Ellora including pick-up and transfer to the rail station at reasonable cost. We had the pleasure of dining together for dinner and what a delightful treat it was!! The sales manager took so much time with us, was professional in all respects and the food was EXCELLENT! Nice variety, beautifully presented, and deliciously filling. I would highly recommend Lemon Tree Hotel for everyone who visit to the lovely city of Aurangabad, India. Thank you to the restaurant staff for providing us with an amazing experience, memorable meal and fabulous hospitality!

We stayed at the hotel in January and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone there was extremely nice and polite. The hotel is super clean, I never saw any worker not cleaning or washing something. The room was fashionably decorated with bright colors and modern furniture. What I enjoyed most, reading the frame jokes that are located everywhere in the hotel..even the bathrooms! Loved it!
