Marble Palace is a nice hotel in the center of Khajuraho, only minutes away from the temples in a quiet lane. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We visited khajuraho in mid-January, so it was rather cold during evenings and nights, but we got a small electric heater into the room, which helped very much (though too late for a delveloping cold). Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is avarage.

Really nice hotel - clean and safe.in the center of the village ( really small city )
My room was on 1st floor -big, very clean ,great bath....all with marble.
the owner is very helpful and intelligent man.
i visited in may (off season) and paid 300 rupees for single room -non AC
the restaurants in the city are a bit expensive.

Room Tip: always try to negotiate about city tax payment

Budget hotels in Khajuraho are basically, crap. After going with a tuc tuc to several, we decided to stay here. Concerning this one, AA was not working properly on the first night, so we asked for another room. Appart from that, hot water was "on request", so I had a few showers with cold water because (of course) I was not told about this. It's in town, at walking distance of western temples and a couple of restaurants, so if you are not pretencious then this might be a right place for you.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2010

I have been travelling throughout India for the past 3 months and was booked through the India Tourism Industry Company to stay at the Hotel Marble Palace. Khajuraho is a small town, very clean with lots of lovely stores selling beautiful items from Kashmir and other parts of India. It is also home to the famous Jain Temples which are really worth seeing as much for their splendor as for the architectural importance of the era.

Although my stay at the Hotel Marble Palace was short - it's a clean well run hotel situated in the heart of town, but quiet, and within easy walking distance of all important sites. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They have a Website www.hotelmarblepalace.com so you can read more about them and their tariffs. I would recommend this hotel for people who are on a budget.

A bit off the main street, but Khadjuraho is so small that it took only two-three minutes longer to get to the Western Group of Temples than from "centrally" located guest houses.

We booked an AC Double, but instead got a non-AC family room for four people at the same rate of $30/night. It was not much of a problem because at this time of year you need an AC for heating, not for cooling. The room was facing a beautiful garden and flowers, a nice surprise compared to a rather usual dust + dirt landscape.

Water supply and sewage worked OK. Staff had to be reminded to clean the room.

Very hard mattresses and pillows (cotton wool filling). Blankets heavy and uncomfortable, bringing back memories of the army days.

The cafeteria was not appealing at all, so we were choosing other places to eat, which come in heaps.

Manager/owner is a friendly person and ready to help, though his services come at a price. He arranged a massage in our room at INR 600 \ person (at Yogi Lodge they offered INR 300 / person); the laundry was about INR 10-15 per item more than at other hotels; he added INR 50 extra for the taxi which he booked (compared to the price list that the taxi driver showed to us).
