“Avoidable”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

Pictures I saw on net looked good, individual cottages and big lawn. They offered us superior cottage, bt it was filled with foul smell, wife realised open drain outside the window. Then we were offered two deluxe rooms to choose from. We chose one, asked for a heater and were promptly provided. What we later realised that the bathroom could not be locked, as all latches were broken. Bt real surprise awaited , when we asked for bfast, after 15 min we were told that someone has gone to market to buy eggs and bread. The resort has just 3 boys who were looking after everything from cooking to frontoffice and everything else. Bedsheets were torn and not very clean. It looked management was just intrested in renting it for marriages. Good thing about the place was that we checked in at 8 AM and checked out at 5 pm next day bt were not charged anything xtra (charged only for one day). The boys taking care were good always ready to help. We asked them to arrange for bonfire and they readly did it. My daughter njoyed playing in the big lawn, playing with the rabbits. So if you just want to spend night, want open space, away from the market may be you should think of this.

Room Tip: Better options available in khajuraho

The Positives:
1. Comfortable and well-equipped bungalow rooms arranged around a peaceful and attractive garden.
2. Convenient for all the attractions yet quiet enough to be able to enjoy the bird life.

The Negatives:
1. It is not finished. In particular there is no dining area and they charge 20% extra for room service!
2. Although friendly and helpful, the staff seem disorganised. Orders can take an age to arrive, there is rarely anybody at Reception and so security is lax and they supply tea and coffee in the rooms but no kettle!
However, we had a very restful and relaxing stay here.

The owner here is extremely accommodating and goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and happy. Yes, it's true, he is making continual improvements but I admire his plans and enthusiasm and would definitely visit again to see how this resort develops in the future. I found it a charming place, despite the building, and would definitely recommend it. The staff are very laid back, and not always on hand immediately, but one you have their attention they are very friendly and helpful. The layout and location made it feel private and secluded - definitely worth a visit.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe cottage which was basic, but I loved being served breakfast (whatever you wanted) on...

A really quiet place 20 minutes slow, easy walk from the Western temples. The rooms are individual bungalows built around a garden which makes it a peaceful and relaxing place. The ongoing building work didn't bother us at all. There's a decent, included breakfast and good WiFi in the rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful and even let us have the use of a room at no extra charge on our check out day as we weren't leaving till late in the evening.

While this is advertised as a resort, the Shri Krishna does not include many of the amenities one is accustomed to while staying at a resort (ie. spa, pool, restaurants etc). While it does not offer a spa or pool it does offer individual bungalow style rooms with personal porch areas. The rooms also have hot water which is rare for a hotel/B&B of its price in the area. The staff is helpful, the rooms were clean, and the "resort" was within walking distance to famous Western Group of Temples.

This hotel is basic but good value for money located within 10 minutes walk of the main temples...so long as you don't stop to buy something. There is internet facilities available either on the computer paid for by the hour or on WIFI from the reception on your phone. The rooms are clean, airy and secure and have en suite...

Room Tip: very good room side south

It is true, as some of the reviewers mentioned, that this place is not quite finished. They are off to a good start with a lovely garden in the center and nice reception building. We rented two small cabins (at incredible prices - approx. $7.50 and $11.50 USD respectively) and got large rooms and bathrooms with teapot, TV in rooms. Quite a value compared with other places we stayed in India.

The service is not great - breakfast area consists of only 2 tables on deck of reception area - it is a bit messy and disorganized. Food is cooked from small hut but decent. If you're not too fussy, this makes a very acceptable overnight to see the temples.
