Easily the cleanest place we have stayed in India, and also has some of the nicest staff we have encountered in India. It really did feel like a home away from home. We ended up staying here for 7 nights after we had only actually planned to stay for 3. We asked our rickshaw driver to take us somewhere cheap, he brought us here. After seeing the room we though the prices would be extortionate, but we said that we couldn't really stretch further than 300 rupees per night, for which Mummy was happy to let us have the room.
Mummy herself was amazing, so hospitable and was forever smiling and laughing, which as useless as this may sound, just made the whole experience so much more pleasant. On top of this, the one night we chose to eat at Mummy's (at only 100 rupees per head) it was fantastic, almost like a buffet, and to be honest we heavily regretted not eating there more often.
Easily in my top 3 places I've stayed in India, if not even number 1, and I know if I were ever to return to Varkala, I would definitely be staying at Mummy's Bamboo House.
DON'T LOOK AROUND, JUST ASK FOR MUMMY'S!
