“Amazing place to be at peace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013 via mobile

We had a wonderful stay at Mundax. The yoga classes and meditation were amazing, genuine and helpful guidance from Matthew made our stay very fulfilling. The place is beautiful and quiet yet there are things to do around the area. The place was spotless clean and we felt at home. The food was the healthiest and most delicious we've had in a long long time!

After an overwhelming and challenging week volunteering in Kolkata we whisked ourselves away to Kerala where we spent the most amazing 4 days at Mundax. I was travelling with my sister whom had fallen quite ill and was desperate to get to a bed by the time we arrived.
Mathew and Agi's home was beautifully clean and welcoming with lovely spacious rooms. We made good use of the library of spiritual teachings and loved the yoga and meditation sessions each day (twice a day). My poor sister missed out on the first day and half due to being unwell but after some advice from the local Ayurvedic doctor and some soothing rice porridge and coconut ginger chutney made by the Mundax cook she was enjoying herself in no time...
Unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to meet Agi as she was away but Mathew was a very gracious and accommodating host. The traditional Kerala vegetarian meals were delicious, nutritious (never felt better) and definitely plentiful. Since being back in Australia for less than a week I have already started cooking Kerala dishes at home. Love it!
By the time we left, we both felt renewed, at peace and energised, looking forward to sharing our experience with our husbands when we got home.
I cannot recommend Mundax highly enough, it's truly a wonderful place to rest your body, renew your soul and release your mind. - Amy and Kate, Perth WA

We spent a month in southern India and began our journey with 7 days at Mundax Homestay. If you ever desire to completely unwind, learn / practice Yoga, and enjoy amazing food, then this is the perfect place.

We enjoyed Incredible vegetarian food and shared life stories with Mathew and Agi. Their home is very clean, cozy, and peaceful. We completely nourished our bodies and spirits. Mathew and Agi are very generous hosts who really share their warm energy and guidance unconditionally.

We also hiked 30 minutes each day through the tea plantations to the local Ayruvedic clinic and had some incredible massages/treatments. This was an amazing addition to our stay at Mundax.

We arrived at Mundax with stressful hearts and were completely refreshed at the end of our stay. We will forever be thankful to these two wonderful spirits.

We stayed 7 nights and loved Mundax Home Stay. If you like mindful yoga, peace and quiet as well as great vegetarian food you will love this place. When we stayed Mathew was the only host with his wife overseas, needless to say Mathew's effort in accommodating any requests we had was no problem.

Our 5 night stay was at the end of our India travels and what a wonderful experience it was at Mundax. Mat and Agi are wonderful hosts making you feel very welcome. The rooms and whole house are very clean with a lovely calm atmosphere. The vegetarian food was excellent and some of the best we had all trip.Chappatti and honey was a new dessert experience. There are only 2 rooms for guests and so the maximum of 4 makes for a very personal experience. The yoga instruction was excellent with Agi and Mathew giving us lots of care and attention. There is a library of yoga and mindfulness books which is well worth dipping into. To be up in the hills gave a much calmer view of India than the cities and beaches. I would have no hesitation in encouraging a visit.

It was our first visit to India, and we are really thankful and happy, that our trip to India started at Mundax Homestay, the perfect place to meet India in its best. Yoga was perfect for both of us, although one of us has been practicing yoga for more than ten years and the other one started her practice just in India. Food was more than delicious, giving us the opportunity to sense the nice variety of different tastes of local food. But above all was the hospitality that Agi and Mathew shared. Really nice people doing great job!

My wife and I visited for just a few days as it was booked, but nevertheless it was the highlight of our trip to India. Mundax has a unique gift for teaching and even though we were beginners at yoga, he made us feel comfortable and at ease. Agi took particular interest in our progress and gave me some highly useful advice in dealing with a few hurdles in my personal life. I left Mundax with a greater sense of self and a newfound zest for life. The food was wholesome, carefully prepared, and seemingly without any oil. We will return as soon as we possibly can. This is by no means a "for profit" business, but two kind souls changing the world one person at a time.
