“Awestruck - Total paisa vasool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Very impressive show! Worth the money. Display of ancient martial arts, with swords and knives, and an awesome display of agility. There is a sequence where performer jumps over 3-4 other performers bending down, they also call people from audience, which is even more fun!

Tip : No fans in the auditorium, closed space, tend to get hot, so wear clothes accordingly.

Cost : Rs. 300 per person

Caution : Avoid taking very small kids, they tend to cry

“A glimpse of kerala culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

I have seen Kalari payattu only in TV before but it was a very different experience to see it in person. I knew that the moves were choreographed, but that didn't reduce the awe, not when they had real sparks coming from their swords.

There was a sequence where one person was using just a twisted cloth to defend another one with a knife. The guy with the cloth ends up knocking down the knife and tying him tightly with the cloth. It was a nicely executed sequence. Having a third one come to untie was a nice touch.

All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable one hour of show.

“Amazing experience you must see to believe!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

This was an incredible experience, to witness such skilled martial artists practising the oldest martial art in the world which was developed in South India (so a real must see when in Kerala!). It is awesome and impressive, feels very much so gladiator-esque in that you are seated around a clay fighting pit where you watch an array of routines, fights and jaw dropping exhibitions. At only 200 rupees, it was also incredible value for money!! Not to be missed!

“Awesome show”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

I was dumbstuck watching these super talented yogis performing the traditional martial arts show. It was my first experience watching a live martial arts show. I'm glad I managed to get a ticket for this show on a crowded day.
