“OK - nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

To be honest, we've only visited here once, and we weren't hugely impressed. We both ordered a vegetarian thali each, which arrived very quickly. Super-quick, in fact! The thali was not at all toned-down for Western palates (a good thing!), and some of it was eye-wateringly spicy, in my opinion.

Service, was as I mentioned, very speedy (there were a couple of local guys there when we went but no one else), so I assume the food is pre-cooked, and dished up accordingly.

There's not much atmosphere there - although it's quite nice to be able to sit and do some people-watching in the street below - and the restaurant itself is very basic (nothing wrong with that at all).

Not sure I'd want to return; there are plenty of eateries in Fort Kochi, and Talk of the Town doesn't offer anything to make me want to go back. There's nothing wrong with the place, just that it's on the lower side of average; however, if you like very spicy food, this is the place for you!

“Good food in a rather simple place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

In the evening we were hungry after attending service at santa cruz basilica. The restrnt was apparently just on d other side of the road. We did not expect much but we were pleseantly surprised by the nice curry chicken and mango fish that we ordered. Certainly worthwhile and no regrets.

“Do not eat here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Worst restaurant in Fort Kochi. We went there as the menu was reasonably priced and the other budget restaurants close by had all been nice. We waited 20 mins to get menu, further 20 mins for waiter to take our order and 30 mins to get food. Couldn't eat the garlic toast as it had so much garlic that it burned your mouth! The food was greasy, tasteless and the chicken was scraps on the bone most of which is fat and no meat! The place is really in need of a clean and revamp. Really really bad!

“Good food, nice atmosphere, slow service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

A good compromise between the pricier restaurants in the fort cochin area and the cheap fast food local joints. The atmosphere is nice with an upstairs view overlooking the streets below, but the service both times we ate here was very slow. The food was tasty, but nothing too special.

I have been in India for 6 months and this is the best Butter chicken I have had. Friendly helpful staff. Great vibes upstairs over looking the street. Good prices. Am going back tonight!!!!
