“Great place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

This was a great experience. The way the museum was laid out and the sequence in which they took us through the history of kerala was great. The settings of the dolls, the lightings, the commentary was very good. Far from the city but worth a visit.

“The erotic paintings are a surprise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

A very pretty building with lots of semi curious articles. Its the room paintings that really surprised. They're beautiful, tell a good story and there in the panel closest to the exit door are revealed the moment of conception of the gods children, with or without the god present. Fascinating. And only a 5 ruppee entrance fee

“Excellent Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

A fascinating collection held ín a traditional style multi-storied house made of beautifully carved wood. Inside there are all sorts of objects -- dance-masks, traditional costumes, religious items, musical instruments, paintings, cooking utensils, etc. On the top floor is a wonderful re-creation of a traditional Kathakali theatre. Performances of the plays can be seen here. It is a some distance fro the centre of Ernakulam and Fort Kochi, but taxi are cheap.
