Tandoor is one the finest and old restaurants serving authentic North Indian and tandoori food in Cochin since 1974. There specialities include and very famous dishes include the Kadai chicken, which is to die for. Others include butter chicken, naan , chicken sixer which is a andhra style deep fried spicy chicken. One other speciality from tandoor is the chicken tikka makhan wala, which is basically tandoori chicken shredded and fried in oil with chilly, onion and tomatoes with secret spices which is really really good and my favorite. There sweet corn chicken and minced chicken coriander soup are also good. Though there Chinese is limited and is indo-Chinese food, one of my fav dish is Hong Kong dry chicken. Veg include malai kofta which is unique and not sweet as other restaurants, dal makhani, Kadai paneer and finger chips masala. Jeera pulao is also good.
My real review is, I have been eating from tandoor since I was born, literally, my dad and family are there oldest customers and are mad about their food. I have been eating the same dishes for the past 24 years and to be true their quality and quantity has changed dramatically over the years. But I spite of all these I continue to love their food and will be my favorite for ever. I have mentioned all my favorite dishes and believe it or not I have not tried anything else other than this from there extensive menu for the past 24 years. I shall post one or two pics of the place later.
