“Biryani Central”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

If you want to try a nicely flavoured traditionally made Biryani, then come to Kayees. We ate the mutton one(goat) and it was delicious. Although there is more to their menu, Kayees is locally famous for its once daily serving of Biryani. To be guaranteed a plate full, arrive about 12.15 when the rice has finished its slow cooking and ready to be enjoyed.

“Visit the one in Mattancherry”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

I have had biryanis from both their restaurants. the one in mattancherry is way better than the one at durbar hall road. The place is normally very crowded and they run out of mutton biryani by noon. Its not easy to go there in a car as the street is very narrow. it would be better if you walk there. Almost everybody in the area knows about the place, so it won't be difficult to find it.

“Great Biriyani and Curry”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

This simple local fast food eatery has a good reputation among locals for a good reason. Our tuk tuk driver recommended it to us, as we were desperately surcharging for good, authentic flavours and non touristic local eateries in Fort Kochi. And this place was really packed with locals. Although rice is not my thing their chicken biriyani (and chicken curry) was so reach in taste we order 2 portions of each for only 300 R altogether! Loved it!

“Trademark Biryani”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

Am not really a rice person and so not a great judge of biryanis; But I absolutely loved this version of their mutton biryani. Simple, minimally-greasy, non-colored, old-styled tasteful alchemy. Definitely One of the must-dos when in Ernakulam.
