We came here for a special occasion, and are glad for it.
The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us; we saw them give the same attentive level of service to the other tables in the restaurant. The service was one of the best we've had in India - courteous, friendly, professional, and unobtrusive are a few of the words I'd use to describe the waitstaff - up to our waiter quickly realizing that we like spicy, interesting Indian dishes and going out of his way to bring us little tasting bowls of simple goodies not on the menu that he'd asked the chef to put together (we were among the last diners).
The food was delicious, varied, and interesting, mixing together some of the better elements of high-end South Indian food that I've seen so far. My only suggestion would be to ask guests whether they'd like their dishes really spicy and then adjusting accordingly - but this is something pretty much all gourmet Indian restaurants we've seen so far have in common, and here it in no way detracted from the quality of the food.
Okay, so the hotel faces a busy harbor, but at night, this doesn't really matter - it actually looks kind of cool with the lights.
The location is also beautifully furnished and decorated, the wine list is decent, and did I mention the service was absolutely top notch?
