“Sweet stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

I had a good stay at Hotel Pearl Continental. It is very clean and well maintained. Right outside your room you will find a verandah overlooking all the rooms and the reception. Their breakfast buffet is also very good. The restaurant serves tasty Keralan cuisine and the location of this hotel is also quite convenient. Right outside the hotel is a food joint. Overal, good experience.

I was on a vacation and had checked-in to this hotel today and I should say the service at the front desk (Reception) has been pathetic. The guy sitting in the reception is so rude and did not have any sense of maintaining the Guest relationship. The hospitality is below average.
I have never experienced such a horrible service in any of the Hotels that I stayed in the past, I am still fuming with the service that these guys rendered.

Never ever I would suggest anybody to have this Hotel as an option as you will only be spoiling your vacation staying here.

In summary, I would rate this hotel as one of the worst Hotels when it comes to their service to the visiting Guests.
Very very poor management!

Room Tip: More than the rooms I think this hotel is more so known for Poor and Pathetic services which keeps y...

We booked for 2 nights & had a good stay in Pearl Continental. The location was convenient to get transport for shopping & eating out purposes. Because it was so cheap we didn't expect much and got a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were comfortable and there was a very pleasant restaurant with a good menu. Staff were helpful. All in all a very pleasant experience.

The location of the hotel is poor and our taxi drivers had trouble finding it. There is nothing around the hotel either so you may find yourself eating in the hotel restaurant every day.

The restaurant was fairly standard too with a buffet breakfast that didn't really impress.

We were not greeted at the door and had to get the front desk staff to pay attention to us. There were a couple of staff members that were more attentive but overall we were not impressed.

There was no WiFi in the rooms and the only option for internet was a single computer in the lobby.

In short, there was nothing overly positive about the hotel but there was nothing that made our stay horrible either.

Room Tip: If you want a good room, choose another hotel.

We stays in this hotel for 3 nights. Booked a delux room but got a standard room. When checked in asked the receptionist 2 times:"then it is a delux room, right?" she said"of course". Well, it wasn't and the AC wasn't working properly as well. When complained about it, the maintenance came and got it work, but couldn't change the temperature. During the night it didn't work at all, there was no air and really hot in the room, and sometime early morning it started working again. Went to complain, and asked for a room move. And then the room what we got was finally a deluxe room, what we paid for. The room itself was ok, clean and comfy with working AC, but during the night it wasn't as cold as during the day.
The restaurant was ok, food not too tasty. Breakfast was nice though with quiet a lot of choices, and we ordered really nice omelet from the kitchen.
Since we traveling around India 3 weeks now, usually once a week get the laundry done in a hotel. Sent 29 pieces for cleaning, got them all back but on the bill it was 30 pieces, and it took around half an hour to figur it out with the receptionist. On the end finally he took of that extra trousers from the bill.
It is very close to the town station, but far from any shops or restaurants, and some construction work is going on, so the bridge was closed from autoriksas, so it was almost impossible to get a ride anywhere. Had to cross the bridge by walk and than from the other side get a rikshaw.
We didn't find this hotel as good as we expected, and I didn't really got a good sleep here, but if you keep eye on the details, for this price the delux room is a fine choice.

Overall, a very good experience. I have had the experience of staying at several hotels in Kochi City, and I would score this one as the top in the 3 star category. The most pleasing thing about this hotel is the staff attitude and professionalism. This is something you dont find a lot in many 3 star hotels in Kochi, but the manners and professional attitude of the staff in Pearl continental were just great. Starting off with the reservation process, the check in, houseeeping and ending with the room service, everyone did a great job. The rooms are spacious and clean. The room decor is simple and relaxing. However, I would recommend an occasional polish to the wooden room interiors to keep them in tip top shape. The breakfast, served as a buffet, was also good, with around 3-4 local choices of cuisine, and 2-3 international standards. If youre not into the local idly, paratha, or sambar, your eggs, omelette, and corn flakes are available. Room service prices are also acceptable.
Moreover, the hotel offers free wired internet in the rooms, which was very useful during my stay.
As for the location, the hotel is centrally located in Kochi, and near the north railway station, so it provides easy access if you plan to use the rail. On the other hand, the hotel surroundings are extremely busy and noisy, with traffic and a nearby Metro construction site, where some piling work was ongoing during my stay. Look at the room tips for further information.

Room Tip: Speaking of busy traffic on the road and nearby metro construction, try to choose rooms on the highe...
