The weather is already sizzling in Mangalore, and what better way to add more fuel to the fire than to visit Sizzler Ranch and add some extra sizzle to your cuisine as well. Sizzler Ranch is THE answer to sizzlers in Mangalore just like Kobe Sizzlers is the answer in Bangalore.
This popular restaurant, located on Nehru Avenue Road just a few steps from Hindi Prachar, has been open for several years now. Though my house is just a hop, skip and jump away, I have not been here in over 5 years and ensured I visit it during my last visit to my hometown.
Ensure you book a table or come early, because the restaurant gets pretty packed on weekdays and weekends. Once you enter the restaurant, you can choose to sit either outside or inside. Inside, the AC is on full blast and you can sit either on the ground level or 1st floor. As it was a mild Saturday evening, myself along with my family decided to sit outside. The seating is quite comfortable and the décor is nice too.
To quench my thirst, I decided to order my favorite which is the Iced Tea. It was so sweet and tasted perfect that I didn't need to add extra sugar. My cousins settled for Thums Up.
We decided to order one vegetarian appetizer and one non-vegetarian one. The veggies were happy with the Grilled Paneer & Vegetables. Serving consisted of 6 huge chunks of paneer drenched in a lip smacking sauce accompanied with vegetables such as peas, beans, tomatoes, carrots, and cauliflower.
The non veggies ordered Chicken Wings (Lollypop). Serving consisted of 8 big pieces of chicken wings along with a bowl of chili sauce which added a lot of flavor and I heard that the chicken was cooked to perfection as well.
Now, let’s move onto the main course. I ordered for the Veg Sizzler with Baked Beans and Noodles. It was accompanied with French fries and other vegetables on the side. The beans were cooked just right and full of flavor too. The patty that was in the middle of the sizzler was juicy and hot. The colors of the carrots, peas, beans, and tomatoes added more color to the dish. It was piping hot, so had to wait a while before I could dig in. The quantity is just right for one person and if you are a light eater, then its better you share a sizzler than try to eat one all by yourself!
My mom had ordered the Veg Sizzler with Szechuan Rice. This sizzler was also accompanied with French fries and the colorful vegetables. I heard it tasted delicious and everything was cooked to perfection.
My cousins ordered for Spicy Chicken Italiano sizzler. It was really loaded and I must say that my favorite ingredient, cheese, was generously decorated on top. There were lots of chicken pieces and filled with just the right amount of spice. Seeing the sizzler, my cousins decided to share it, as the quantity was quite a lot.
The last dish that was ordered was the Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice. It was not too oily or overloaded with soya sauce. I heard it tasted great and was spicy as well.
The dessert section of the menu looked very tempting, but there was not even an inch of space left in the stomach for any of us to indulge in desserts. Better save something for next time!
I recommend Sizzler Ranch to those who are looking to have a wholesome meal with family, a birthday or anniversary treat with friends, or even an unexpected date with your loved ones! So if you wanna dig into some awesome mind-blowing sizzlers, then make sure you visit Sizzler Ranch as soon as possible! As mentioned above, if you plan on going in a group or on a weekend, do ensure that you book a table so that you don’t have to wait for long.
The waiters were friendly, and were able to recommend some of the best things from the menu. The service is fast and ambience is calm and pleasant. If you are a fan of English music, then you can hear some of the songs from the 80’s in the background.
