“"Nature & Indulgence"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

We, group of 12 had a bike trip to Chikkamagalur and stayed in this resort. Great location, clean comfortable rooms and awesome food! surrounded by the estate and jungle is a beautiful place to walk in, complete with its own waterfall, lake, stream and there's no need to leave the resort if all you want to do is relax and walk amongst greenery.

Nature Nirvana is located 35 km from Chikkamagalur near Attigundi. About 7km is a mud road to reach this place which we had tough time to ride since it was not easy road to ride the bike. Otherwise everything went well. Attenders Guru and Chandrappa (Sorry if names are wrong) were really good and saying 'OK' for every needs of our group.

I would recommend this place especially for groups and families. Best value for money.

Room Tip: Try to get the room on floor of Main house. It is attached with the large hall and room heater .

It has a small falls, pond and a wonderful landscape of plantation. One of the main thing i liked here is awesome home food. I recommend this place for trip with family and friends.
Road is the only big disadvantage, but they have a mountain Jeep service. we can park our car in a safe place and use their service.(But where to find a safe place in jungle)

After buying my new car, I was expecting a long drive. So planned with three of my friends and booked rooms in Nature Nirvana Chikmagalur, Karnataka. This place is around 290 km from Maratha Halli, Bangalore. On the trip day, we left Bangalore around 6:30 am in morning. We took, Tumkur way which was shorter but road is far better in Hassan way.
From Chikmagalur town, we climb 35km to reach Nature Nirvana. The last 14 km can be bypassed via a shortcut of 7 km but if you do not have Jeep or SUV then its hard to take that road. As we went on Pune highway for 50km we took lot of time to read Chikmagalur. So, Mr. Kutty fron Nature Nirvana (NN) was waiting at the town. He called a jeep, and he drove my car for taking 12km route and we had a nice drive by the Jeep.
Hospitality is markable and food is average. Nature Niravana is placed in a Coffee estate with 200 acre. In morning you can see how people washing coffee fruits and taking the coffee seeds out of it. It smells so hard.
They have a small lake where you can ride boat or do a fishing. The whole place is in serenity and the tranquil and empty environment will definitely leave a long lasting impression.
NN has a big house as dormitory (7 beds), and one building for separate rooms. There is plenty empty place for playing cricket, volley or cycling and obviously for night Bonfire.
If there is not much people, best deal is to take the dormitory and enjoy the space. Also just behind that place a green mountain is scenic. You can have slow and long walk around the estate. You may also travel to CCD estate, which is adjacent to NN.
I would strongly recommend Nature Nirvana

We started our trip from b'glore with a bunch of colleagues. It was more of a family trip with colleagues with their spouse n kids. Its scary until u reach the place (nature nivana). Avoid during rainy season. The place is good enough for a weekend trip. If u are a nature lover its t best place to b. surrounded by forest, lake, waterfall, stream, tea factory. just awesome. they arrange trekking, bird watching trips. the people are really good. If u are a non-veg u will enjoy the barbeque, booze, dance floor. and the dashound....mala. from ere u can visit forest n climb the bababudangiri hills. sunset point is really awesome. b it a family, couple right place to stretch n relax.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are good.

This place is touted as a good place for a business outing (team outing etc) but I will definitely not recommend this place for that.

Everything about the place is pretty ordinary. The stay started with a disappointment. The guys at NN had promised us Sumo vehicles to and from their office at Chikmagalur. They charged us a hefty sum (while local vehicals are available for much less) but when we arrived, they had arranged an old minibus that was totally incapable of making the trip through the plantation (esp the precarious turns and bends on the road). It seemed from the very start that the guys running the place were trying to really make money at the expense of the guests comfort.

The property though is well maintained, however, the basic needs are not looked after. There is not enough hot water to go for everyone. There is no water heater, the water is heated with firewood so one has to wait an inordinate amount of time for hot water is they are running to capacity or anywhere more than half full. The sheets are clean, towels that they provide are not.

The folks there (the manager, cook and guide) are quite nice though. I think they are the ones who deserve real credit.

Overall, I feel its a good place for a family outing but a poor place for a business outing.

We went to Nature Nirvana for 2 nights and the trip was not a very memorable one.
the room where we stayed was really small and with kids, an extra bed was added in the room. so, when we were in the room, we wre on the bed, it was really cramped. I have been to several homestays and you do not expect 5 star luxries, but this one was by far the smallest room.
The web page mentions that there is a private lake where you can do boating and fishing. however, the lake is at best 1.5 times a decent swimming pool and filled with sludge. Kids were very disappointed. you can do one complete round of boating in 5-7 mins.

the stream is good and the staff does make a genuine effort to service your requests. the care taker Mr. Kutti was very helpful and efficient.

The food was, in one word, BAD. in two days there was noting served which is worth a mention. One good point was that they did make plain rice and dal on request once the kids cound not eat was was served.

there are a couple of trekking options (1hr and 3 hr) which is good. NN did put up a camp fire each night which was good. in fact they had three separate camp fires going on at the same time for different groups. that was good and i have not seen that any where else.

overall, this is would be a good one day trip for families and 2-3 days trip for larger groups. they can make NN their base and visit several places in and around chikmangalore.

Nature at its best. Calm serene, unspoilt, natural haven.

The facilities in terms of rooms and food were really good. The staff were very courteous and accommodative. The personalized service, tasty food and warm hospitality form a wonderful package and need to be preserved. The sound of birds chirping and the quiet picturesque surrounding made our stay very memorable. The cascades were fun to visit , the nature walks were a delight and the gorge was like you see in the movies. The view of the sunset was breathtaking. Overall it was a great weekend getaway for us. Will definitely be back for a longer break from city life.
