Someone has rightly pointed out here, that despite being a Bangalorean if you hadn't been here, shame on you. Been going there for past 14 years from those times when it was a mere 10 by 10 joint bursting with people to the current more spacious modern avatar. Only the looks have changed, thankfully. Everything else is the same. In those days, we used to order first and pay later. There will be 100 people there and the person in charge will still remember what all you had ordered! He was a human computer.
They don't have much in the menu. Idli, vada, khara and kesari bath. The satisfaction the food brings is something one has to experience to believe. The chutney is the best part of it. Unlimited, they keep pouring it using a tumbler, in case you need more. The locality is very traditional old Bangalore, which adds to the charm of the place. You should be there before 8am.
This is one such place that holds for me the old charm of Bangalore. I feel these places represent the real Bangalore, not UB city or the pubs on Church street. During our sojourns abroad we used to miss our weekend early morning excursions to this place and long for the coffee. For me, truly, this is one place which adds one extra point to life in Garden City.
