Home away from home. Every person from gate men to check in, housekeeping, spa, cafe staff etc. All make a genuine effort to make your stay comfortable. Extremely warm and welcoming place in the heart of the city.

the location is the biggest plus for this hotel. centrally located so easy to do all the meetings here itself. everything is fine in the hotel - rooms, food, service. but nothing really extra ordinary so giving it 4/5. works well for a business trip, but may not be the best place to stay if you are on a leisure trip to the city.

Spent two nights at the Taj - M G Road, in a suite room. Although I would agree with most reviews that the property is a little old and tired, the service on the other hand is flawless - We were warmly greeted with genuine smiles and great hospitality from the bell hops, Concierge, F&B and front desk staff. The suite room I’ve booked was clean and the balcony did provide a nice view of the lake and the city. The fixtures like the bathroom accessories and switches may look dated, but it did not bother me as the lights, TV and power outlets worked fine. The chamber staff were always located on our floor, asking if the room was OK? The front desk staff, namely Pooja, Harpreet were be on hand to assist with local shopping recommendations – (MG Road, Commercial Street, etc), and making the check-in and check our process a breeze. We met the Housekeeping manager, a polite and efficient lady who arranged for some flowers in our room when we arrived – a nice touch. The F&B staff; Saravanan and Dolly's recommendation of the menu was amazing. The F&B staff seemed busy as they were private events that were held on the two nights we were there, although understaffed, they were efficient and were always serving us with a smile. The Jiva Spa was the main highlight during our stay. You will be greeted by a Mr. Ruffus who is the spa Manager, a warm and charismatic guy, along with his staff, made our ‘Head Message’ experience truly memorable. We will try the Taj Yeshwantpur during our next visit.

We declined the hotel limo service. If you are looking to get a Taxi from the airport, use the ‘Airport-City’ Cabs. There’s a qeuee outside the arrival hall, hard to miss the entire fleet waiting for passengers and they run by the meter. We paid INR 800 for a one way trip. The Concierge will be able to book it for you for your return trip for the same price. You may also look for the Taj Hotel staff stationed at the airport for assistance.

Room Tip: Get the Suite rooms, check for hotel offers directly via their website.

We stayed at the Vivanta By Taj as part of our Southern India Tour tour booked through The Travel Planners (recommended for all your South India Tours / Travel plans). This is a very good hotel. The management and team spend a lot of money on training the staff in hospitality and service. Everybody from the reception staff, cleaners, restaurant tries very hard to serve you correctly and ensure you enjoy your stay in the hotel. The breakfast was amazing, the rooms and food were good. We enjoyed a visit to the M&S across the road. If you have been traveling a while there is also a good supermarket to stock up if you are missing anything. Bangalore is a noisy busy city, even though the hotel is busy, you can still find some calm at the Taj. Recommended if staying in Bangalore.

Room Tip: Have breakfast by the pool. Leave a good amount of time for your breakfast as it feels you could hav...

The Vivanta on MG Road is perfectly situated across the road from the 1 MG Road mall, though the entry path itself is a bit circuitous. While expensive, the service more than makes up for it and the food is great!

The staff are friendly, eager to assist, and genuinely interested in your well-being. The cornerstones of service at this hotel seem to be - personalisation, ease of interaction, and comfort. Everyone, down to the doorman who paged my cab every morning, greeted me by name, with a wide smile, and some kind of a conversation starter.

Loved my stay, will return!

This hotel is located at the prime space of Trinity Circle, MG Road and its location is a huge plus point. With the new #1, MG Road, Mall opposite there is a collection of boutique luxury brands like Marks & Spencers, Faces, Hidesign, Haagen Dazs and ethnic companies like FabIndia.

What I like best about this hotel is the vast amount of space available that is open -- the pool, the open breakfast areas besides the pool. The conference rooms available on the 1st floor is huge and is no wonder it is the defacto choice for business meetings in the city. Several reputed MBA fairs meant for 3,000 to 4,000 participants were being held there.

The rooms are all neat and excellently kept, but one has to compromise in size, especially the bathrooms can sometimes feel small like a studio apartment. Also the pool is pretty visible through the corridors. So privacy is a bit of concern. Room rates are decent. The entrance is well done with a classic ball room entry, a very friendly and hospitable staff and the bar is located at the right on entry. Surprisingly noise from the running traffic is not an issue as it cannot be heard inside conference rooms, and within corridors/the reception. Its a little away from prime shopping areas of Brigade Road junction. If you would like to be close to shopping, try the Gateway Residency hotel by the same group that is located right on Residency road. There is a Sikh temple just down the road, and also Fame Lido Mall with good eat outs like Barbeque Nation, and TGIF and also the reputed Fame Cinemas. Having to pay for Wi-fi was a dampener though.

I would highly recommend this for Business conferences and visits plus a little bit of leisure, sight seeing and shopping fit into your schedule.

Room Tip: Rooms with windows facing south to west are better to avoid traffic scenes/noise (if any)

I had stayed at Taj Whitefields on previous trip and that hotel was extremely nice. Arrived late to the hotel and whilst the staff are very friendly and will do anything for you. The rooms were quite tired and dark.

There is a new shopping mall across the road with a few shops such as Marks and Spencer, Man United Shop etc and a supermarket. Check the sell by dates on the products - they were selling crisps that had sell by date of July 2012 when it was November.

Room Tip: Would not recommend this hotel.. there are betters ones in Banagalore
