Owner description: Chitrakala Parishat is a renowned school of art in Bangalore, with an enviable alumni list. Located in a tree-lined campus, CKP — as it is popularly known — has a museum, a store and a gallery worth visiting. The gallery has rotating exhibits while the museum has permanent displays of paintings and crafts. CKP comes alive during its much-awaited fests: the annual Handicraft Mela and the Chitra Santhe (art market), both of which provide outlets for artists and craftsmen.

This is the best place for the following:
- Locale and environment/ambiance: in a quaint secluded residential environment and is expansive one
- Annual Vastrabharanam: the annual event to connect the artisans/weavers with the consumer directly
- Excellent facilities for training in arts and crafts.

“Good expo, and chilled gardens to hang out in”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Much as I love the hustle & bustle of Bangalore when it gets too much I come here for an hour or two to check out their permanent & temporary collections and hang out in the gardens for a while. Be sure to take a look at the beautiful collection of Mysore art.
