“Day outing at Elim”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

This is a really nice place for a team outing. The facilities kept our team entertained and interested the whole time we were there. I would recommend this place to other groups too. We found this place on a list of corporate properties listed by LifeisOutside( http://www.lifeisoutside.com/corporate-team-outings-bangalore/ ) that has many more such options for our future trips.

Had been here quite a long time back. Great memories. Anyways, the place is pretty good. There's ample amount of space and it's worth the money.

I would review it in the following way.

Deliciousness: 3/5 -- Food's not that great. Very average.

Ambience: 4/5 -- Really good place to chill and relax. Far from the city. Nice green surroundings, a swimming pool and really good facilities like table tennis, snooker, foosball(awesome fun playing this, reminds me of Joey and Chandler from F.R.I.E.N.D.S :P) and XBOX to name a few. These facilities are free-of-charge. You can utilize them irrespective of the number of hours. Thumbs up to that because usually other resorts charge excessively!

Cleanliness: 3.75/5 -- This place was not messed up. Was maintained well.

Quality of Service: 3.75/5

Bang for Your Buck: 4/5

Overall Experience: 4/5

Visit again: Would love to!

I hope they improve the food quality.

P.S. - There's a bar too! ;) I have a few pictures of the menu. Sharing it here. Priced quite decently.

Good place to hang out, a weekend destination to get relief from the work. Service is good, swimming pool is cool, Rain Dance floor is good. Not much gaming facilities. Overnight stay not preferable. We had been there for a off-sight outing from our company and get together.

We went on a team outing to Elim Resort. The location of this place is little interior and there are electrical wires tangling on the way and is a problem for huge vehicles to wade through. The ambiance is ok as there are still works going on. Swimming pool is the best and is very clean. The Rain Dance floor was also good. The vege food was nice. Can consider this resort if you have budgetary constraints.

We were a bunch of friends and decided to stay overnight. Our package included AC deluxe rooms and it was not up to our expectations. The Resort area is not vast.. You will see more concrete than Green.. You will feel like it ended even before it started. However Service was good and people were kind enough. Since we were a group, we had some good fun. Good for day out. Overnight stay would be waste of money.

We chose Elim Resort to celebrate our second wedding anniversary after reading the reviews and talking to the customer care executive of the resort.
We were looking at spending a quite weekend in what they called "deluxe rooms with bath tub..."
Our expectations were high but here is what we got; both the plusses and minuses.
--------------
Plus Points:
---------------
* Their indoor game sections is very good. They have pool tables, ice hockey table, and XBOX. I haven't seen these in any other resort.

* The rain dance is a unique concept and though we didn't use it, it looked like fun.

* The swimming pool is well maintained and you can wear your regular clothes inside the pool. Unlike other resorts that insist on swimwear, there is no such restriction here.

* You can try archery as well but they ask for a Rs. 500 deposit.

* Food is decent and some dishes are actually tastier than what we get in fancy hotels.

---------------
Minus Points
----------------
* The rooms: They are very standard rooms like you would find in budget hotels. The LCD screen was smaller than my desktop monitor and the cable reception was BAD. No toiletries are provided so if you plan to stay overnight, take your own. The bath tub is not inviting enough, it looks dirty. The shower curtains were moldy, the washbasin taps were leaking, the commode in our bathroom was shaky.

* Cleanliness: It didn't look like the floors were mopped. There were mud and food stains on the corridors. The restaurant tables were not cleaned routinely. There is a drain right behind the rooms and there was a stench in the rooms especially the bathroom which lasted for quite a while.

* The timing: Food never arrived on the time they said. We were told dinner will be served from 9:00 to 10:30. We reached at 9:45 and dinner was still in the process of being laid out.

* The SPA and Saloon: This was worse than my neighborhood parlor. My husband and I went for head massage. They use regular oil (Parachute coconut oil/Navaratan Oil) and make you sit in plastic chairs. No concept of steaming the hair and hardly 20 minutes for 300 bucks. My husband had a headache after the massage.

* The payment: Most resorts we have been too ask for payment on checking out. Here you have to pay in advance so there is no way you can leave if you are not satisfied.

* There was a team outing on the weekend that we went and all the staff seemed to cater only to that group. Loud music played till 11:00 in the night despite repeated requests. Not the kind of peaceful weekend we had planned. The resort premises are big but most activities are centered around a small area and no matter where we went we couldn't escape "Munni" and "Sheela."

*The tea and coffee were terrible.

* The staff seemed clueless about most things, including the time and place of food service. They all spoke different things and it was very confusing. At one time, my husband was waiting in the queue to get water and the manager actually broke the queue to get water for himself. So much for customer focus.

Overall, I was disappointed and couldn't wait to leave. But, that said, it looked like a good place for team/one day outing. It has enough stuff to keep you and your friends occupied. But I'd advice against overnight stay especially if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Not suitable for overnight stay or romantic getaways.

Overall a very nice experience.
The facilities were well maintained and and they had lots of choices (wrt facilities) which will appeal to the old and young alike.

The most distinguishing of the facilities they provided were XBOXs with Kinect and PS3s. That is something you don't usually see in most resorts. And since it began raining while we were there, quite naturally this was what kept the junta from whining and griping :)
