These facilities as listed on the website are correct. Hotel Nandhini is suitable for anyone who'd want to have a comfortable stay at value for money. The reception has staff which are not good at communicating in english but are comfortable speaking in kannada. It does not serve particularly to the guest who stay here on business or to the guests who visit for leisure but anyone willing to shell out money for a pleasant stay, if you don't mind a few exceptions. Primary reasons ?? This building is old and lack enough hygiene. The elevator is not effecient and drags a lot and makes noises..If you check-in to your room then ... the beds are comfortable but bed bugs are very much active. Internet connectivity is jammed at times. There is a water jug but contains contaminated water or water thats been in the jug for a long time. The Refrigerator is just a show and smelly. The soap dish is broken or detached from it's place. If you check into the hotel in the mornings,
then you can't get help from it's lousy staff. They might promise you help but arrives too late. You might face one of the following problems : broken door locks, bed bugs, lack of shower curtains, defunct a/c, damaged reading lamp, light bulbs fused out, dirt sticking under the sofa/bed, hotel staff knocking your door roughly to get your attention if you've ordered for room service, torn towels, damaged window handlebar etc... I've talked to the hotel staff and the manager and they don't take things seriously. The laundry service has a rather foul smell compared to a used dress material and I'd give it a thumbs down. \
(perhaps they might have given my clothes to a low quality laundry guy outside the hotel)
The restaurant is just ok but sometimes in the noon time or just when it's time for lunch it get crowded specially on saturday and sundays. The hotel offers you buffet breakfast which comprises of South Indian and Continental. On a typical day you can find Juice, Tea/Coffee, Bread, Butter, Jam,Honey,Toast(on request) Egg omlettes, Corn flakes and milk, Fruits like pineapple, Guava, Watermelon. The continental breakfast is not presented best or let's say hygienic, sadly the bread is not good quality and the jam and butter are left in the open - flies just buzz around the food. Tea and Coffee taste the worst,
Sugar is available. There's a lack of standard and hygiene at the breakfast buffet. The south indian breakfast is rarely satisfying, you may find.. Idli, Rice mixed with old stock vegetables or fried curry leaves, Dosa, coconut chutney, spicey chutney, sambar, Set dosa. The Idli is really horrible and the dosa prepared out of maida sometimes makes a bad meal, the sambar must have been old and boiled with a lot of water. The chutney tastes good but again lacks quality. The serving plates are too old and shabby. Cutleries are not maintained well, and not given sufficient cleaning.I got a peak in to the restaurant of this hotel.. there were 2/3 women very dirty looking and washing the utensils.
The hotel staff don't let you watch news and they tune into kannada songs loudly at the breakfast buffet. The hotel staff are not at all professional and wear a lousy, tired look. They uniforms are not pressed and some have stains on them. They gossip loudly and shout before their guests. Mostly shabby looking guys work in this hotel right from the front desk to restaurant staff and then the room service guys .
It's gonna be a disappointing stay I guarantee.
