“V. poor services & unprofessional staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

I stayed in Mapple with my wife. This is an old property not well maintained at all. The room we stayed in was shabby. The door lock was broken. The room heater wasn't working, neither was the fridge. Despite many calls, it couldn't be fixed. The services were very slow. The food was below average. The buffet breakfast was cleared from the restaurant 15 mins before the scheduled time which was very unprofessional. The housekeeping staff entered in the room despite 'Do not disturb' tag hanging on the door which is also very unprofessional. When asked to come back later, they didn't turn up the whole day and the room wasn't serviced that day.

While checking out early morning there was no waiter to pick up the luggage and had to carry two heavy bags myself two floors down.

Not at all worth 4 star property as claimed...Not recommended

We had a very bad experience at the hotel. The washrooms were not clean upon check-in and the room was smelly. Also, there were no towels in both the rooms that we had booked. We were surprised at the condition of the rooms and the service because the hotel claims to be the second best in Manali.
We checked out of the hotel immediately and had to move to another hotel

I had gone to mapple the river crescent resort with my friends on a college trip last holidays. The weather was amazing on our way from amritsar to manali and when we checked into d hotel and entered our room it was beautiful.. just what one needs on a vacation. A huge comfortable bed, clean linen and beautiful upholstery with a background sound of the river flowing close by.
Besides the nice room, the service was also very efficient and food was delicious with a wide variety for vegetarians.. It is also situated very close to the main market for those who want to shop and pick up souvenirs.
I recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a peaceful and comfortable stay in manali.

I searched few options from net and found mapple to be quite good to plan my holiday.I went to their website www.mapplehotels.com

My experiences:
1) Booking: I am from Mumbai, it was easy for me to book the room as they have office at Mumbai.
2) Rooms: There are some 46 rooms in hotel with options of Standard,Jr Suites and Suites. I have booked Suite and got a fair deal with MAP.
Pros: Clean,Spacious, bed and linen were good, woolen carpeted floors, good room services and house keeping.
Cons: No Central heating system(they provided two 400watts portable heaters),toilet seats were broken, wardrobe door was loose, main door locking system too was not perfect, no side table drawers, and no Electronic safe, no Fireplace facility as mentioned in website.

3) Bathroom: Be sure at time of booking that you are getting the Suite with Jacuzzi if you want it.not every Suite has it. Though our one was not fully operational. One side door was loose and coming out while closing.

4) Room Services: Great room services. I was happy with it.

5) House keeping: Good services.

6) Restaurant: The restaurant has good ambiance and quite spacious. But we went just once for dinner as its too cold to go to it hence we always had food at rooms. Food was good.tasty but in MAP plan I found it very limited varieties to order from.

7) Reception desk: Very helpful and friendly.

8) Travel desk: They offer you the tours which i personally found slight expensive as if you try from govt running Him-Aanchal or other private from the Mall road can be more cheaper. Kindly assure all the points as most of the points are passing place names of villages.

9) No indoor hotel activities or entertainment except Table tennis.Pool is chargeable at Rs 250 per hour. Hotel has nice lobby and roadside small garden to seat and relax in sun. Spacious parking facility.

Though Hotel is 2.5 km away from mall road, you dont quite worry about it as one dont get time to go down due to cold.Normally we got out in morning and return by evening and straight to room. Still if you wish to go to Mall road for leisure you can get Auto rickshaw for Rs 50 one way.Even local bus which may be around Rs10.
Also you find small shops who offers general stuffs like tea/omelet/bread butter/lays/bisleri/cold drinks etc. Even near this hotel we found a small stall where local aunt prepared momos which were delicious.

All in all its a good experience. But I personally think there is a room for improvement which can thus be attractive and comfortable for the customers.

I hope this review might be helpful.

It took us a drive of 30 minutes to reach the hotel from the mall area. As it is bit far from the city so you can have some peaceful time. The rooms were warm and welcoming with an electric heater, ample number of chairs etc. The room service maintained the room well by cleaning after every 8-10 hours. The staff is well coordinated and undoubtedly understands your need. The tea maker is additional facility provided so that you need not wait for the room service to serve you tea. The food was good and at a very reasonable cost. The wine along with is great to enjoy. The travel is quite well occupied. The guy sitting there offered great help to us by planning our tour in the least time. The hotel is located adjacent to the river beas which can be reached at any time of the day. There was also the internet facility.
