“Nice hotel, good services”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

When we were in Manali, we stayed at the hotel greenfields. It was a nice hotel, very well maintained and immaculate. The hotel staff was polite and very cooperative. We were quickly accommodated in our room when we reached the hotel. It was clean and spotless. I loved the spacious room with wooden flooring and modern upholstery. Our room also had a very nice view. Hot water supply was consistent throughout the day and we never faced any problems. Overall we had a comfortable experience at the hotel and would certainly recommend it.

I and my fiance were on a vacation trip to Manali and this was our choice of stay. When we checked in, it was quite late at night but the staff was still very warm, pleasant and helpful, helping us out with our luggage. We had booked a Deluxe Room and the room was huge with wooden flooring and a fantastic view of the hills surrounding it with its lush greenery. This worked wonder on one’s tired eyes. The heating system in the room was perfect and we did not freeze. Rather our stay was very warm and comfortable. The staff helped us out with the sightseeing, even going as far as hiring us a taxi at minimal cost. The food was really tasty, served warm and piping hot. The only downside was the lack of balconies in the room. It would have been really nice to have one and to hang out in it while sipping tea, enjoying the perfect view of the beautiful green hills. A very memorable trip.

This hotel is present in the Log Hut area of Manali. This is away from the Mall road and shopping area. There are no other restaurants or cafes nearby only hotels. The rooms are big with just enough furniture present which makes it seem very spacious. It has wooden flooring. Bathroom is also decently sized and quality is good. The walls of the rooms have long glass windows which have breathtaking views of the mountains and pine trees around. We stayed in room 202 which had big windows on 2 sides, both of which had amazing views. Staff is extremely courteous and helpful with any request. They arranged for a Tavera for us for sightseeing to Rohtang pass and Solang valley for Rs. 1500. Since we went during off season time the prices were all on the lower side. The hotel is present at a steep 2km uphill walk from the Mall road. Autos will charge Rs. 70 one way. To catch an auto to go down to the city you might have to wait for 15-20min.

There are only few small things missing in this hotel. I feel having a balcony in each room would have been a great addition to enjoy the views. A hot water kettle with facility to make tea/coffee would have been welcome (But housekeeping were always ready to serve us tea when requested from the restaurant). The breakfast menu is definitely on the pricey side especially for the bread items. There was no fan present in the room. This made the room a little hot at times.

But these few issues cannot take away the amazingly relaxing time we enjoyed for 4 night at Hotel Greenfields.

We have only visited Manali once so I cannot compare the experience at this hotel with others, but based on what we saw around town would have to rate this as "average". Service was at least adequate, the room was a spacious two bedroom / two bath arrangement and the breakfast was decent. The hotel was very quiet and at most three rooms were taken in any of the three nights we stayed. My only gripe would be the distance to town was an arduous 3k trudge uphill. This hotel was part of a package so I cannot comment it's value for money. I would definitely recommend Casa Bella Vista down the road for dinner.

Away from the mall area, it offers a nice relaxing atmosphere with a great view of the mountains. On a clear day you can even hope to see the snow capped peaks from the room.
Very economical hotel ably managed by Mr. Ramesh Sharma who was friendly and helpful. The hotel does not have lift and hence we did not venture to go to the terrace restaurent. Room service was okay. You certainly need to have a vehicle with you to go around. The hotel can organize for vehicles but it would be costlier. Check for the room that gives the best view of the mountains. You can walk around the Log Hut area and enjoy the nature. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay in a quiet way.
The ambience of the lounge needs some face-lift but the staff make up for it with good hospitality.

Room Tip: Choose this hotel if you want a quiet ambience at very reasonable price.

We stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights in July 1st week. Hotel is nice, good value for money. It was empty when we were there which made it nicer. Food is okay, it's a 10 minute rather challenging walk to old Manali which is where all the traveller fun is. Good location, clean rooms and bathrooms and stunning views of the mountains. One weird thing about our room was that there was no fan, so it got a bit stuffy when the air was still. Note to the unfit: the walk to the hotel is a steep uphill climb which can be quite tiring if you've spent the day walking around!
