“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2011

This is really nice hotel. Located in the heart of Manali Town which was also near to market area. All shops are in same vicinity. Moreover it is beside Movie Theatre which is plus point. During my stay me and my wife watched movie and we enjoyed that. Room service was great. Staff was courteous. We had nice view of mountain ranges from the balcony.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Garden are really good.

Been to this hotel in the month of January 2011. Its a terrible time to visit this place. It was snowing. We didnt had a reservation as it was a unplanned trip. The local guys took us to different hotes.. but everything was looking pathetic. Finally we saw this hotel on the way and went to check the rates but our hopes were low as it was looking very grand hotel. Luckily the manager offered us the 50% discount as it was off season and we got two double room with heater for 2.5K each and the hotel is awesome. Just beside this, u can find the theatre and the market is very near by. So, in all the way its a nice hotel. Didnt find any -ve aspect in this.

Best part of the stay is Evening Dinner Ambiance with live melodious Indian Music, second good part of the stay is Kerala Ayurvedic Massage & Spa Centre and third is services of the travel desk manager.
Resort requires lot of renovation for interiors of the rooms, washrooms are pathetic, service of the staff is not satisfactory and breakfast is chaotic. Managerial staff is not fully equipped to handle diverse requirements of the different customers with different tastes/likings..
Overall experience is not satisfactory and not worth the bucks spent..

We stayed at this hotel during our 10 day Himachal trip in summer of 2011. This hotel was the lowest point of our trip. The summarize it, the hotel is cheesy at best. The rooms are shabby and carpets soiled. They play loud music in the evening that annoys you and triggered my wife's migraine.

The worst part was the food. I made the mistake of taking the MAP package that included Breakfast and Dinner. The breakfast was OK but the dinner was deplorable. Food at the buffet was unpalatable and the presentation was pathetic. There were heaps of soiled plates left around the lawn and hardly any place to sit down and have a dinner.

In fact, the experience was so bad that in spite of having paid for the food package, we dined outside.

There are many other good hotels in Manali. My recommendation would be to stay away from this hotel.

I had a tragedic experience with make my trip (mmt). i had a booking in manali - picadilly from 19th june 2011 to 22nd june 2011 for which make my trip had upfront drawn ~rs. 18000 from my credit card. however on 19th june, after a 12 hour long journey from dalhousie to manali, when i reached picadilly at 10.00 in the night, i was surprised when the gm of the hotel mentioned that my booking had not been forwarded to them by mmt. he asked me to call mmt and request them to forward the booking email first. in the night at 10.00 pm, i did not have network connectivity on my cellphone to callup mmt. after about half an hour, the gm offered me a so called 'emperor's suite' for a night, as he did not have any other vacancies in the any other category.. (definitely kind enough gesture of gm, and i appreciate his hospitality)..... however so called 'emperor's suite' was nothing but an attic in the building without any single - small or large window or a door to have sunlight or fresh air in the room...... somehow we were convinced based on the gms assurance that we would be shifted to our delux room, the next day..... he had also discussed the same with the mmt person on the call, for the same, and we were convinced to check in.

we were left with no other option by to 'check-in', being in a new town at 10.00 pm in the night, with lady member, and having paid the full traiff....... somehow we spent the night in that dungen....

next day morning, i had immediately met the gm and requested him to shift us to our room. he had assured to do the needful in the mid of the day as he was expecting some vacancies. note the earlier night my wife was running a high temperature and stomach ache.... and we could not survive in a place without any light or air......
at about 4.00 pm after couple of reminders, we were shifted to a so called 'machan suite'. it was tinge better than the 'emperor's suite' to the extent that it had a small window.however both these rooms were shabby and not refurbished over the period of time.... there were only two dull yellow lights on a big suite room, barely for us to see each other's face...... this was it..... i refused to stay in this room and complained to the gm and the manager on the floor.... but they were helpless. on the other hand my wife's condition was deteriorating in such a room.

it was finally when i offered to cancel my vacation and return back to mumbai to the gm, that the managed to shift me to the delux room..... i have no grievance against the hotel or the staff who had been fantastic.... however make my trip is hopeless.
does any one care about the customer.... how will you compensate for the two days of mental agony and pain?

i am postin this on all sites for prospective to share my experiences with make my trip..
Please reconfirm withe the hotel when you are booking through a travel portal. these protals take your money and dont forward the booking to the hotels.

Room Tip: Delux rooms are only good rooms - Dont go for suites

The rooms are all in a bad condition. The staff needs to be trained to be more cordial and warm as they are working in hospitality sector.
They should be more professional and prompt.
We stayed for 4 days and were shocked to see the dilapidated condition of rooms. Our package inclusions were not given , even the welcome drink was never served...
It was one of the worst experiences we had
