“nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2010

Its a great place to stay. The rooms are very good and spacious. The balcony rooms have a great view of snow capped mountains. The staff is very helpful and service is good. The location of the hotel is quiet and peaceful. Its about 10 minutes drive from the market.

But the Indian food is bad. The Chinese & Continental food is nice. The resort lacks a good spa. The kerela massage facilities are inadequate. But overall, a good place, certainly one of the best in Manali.

It is a good property with cordial staff. we had good time with live band accompanying dinner.

You could pay attention to few things to improve it further - if I may suggest
1. While the electricity supply is on genset, you have uniform voltage otherwise, light in bathroom & drawing room keep flickering.
2. it is very time consuming to get hot water at deluxe suites - being situated at a distance probably.
3. health venter needs independant boiler (maybe 35 liters electric one) so that guests can enjoy jacuzzi & massage. we couldn't for lack of hot water.
4. deluxe suite definitely needs another heater during winter.

This is the second time i have stayed in Ambassador Resort which shows that i had a very good experience previously also.

Let me tell you about the location- You will get lots of hotel which are near to the market like Anishka and many other but, please note that those hotels are rated as three star hotel (please dont go by their web site as they promise all false things). at Ambessador if not 5 star you will get a service which is above a 4 star hotel. the hotel interiors are rich neat and clean. The ambiance of the hotel and the reception area is so relaxing that you would want to come to this hotel again and again

FOOD- Suuuuuupppppeeeerb. the bufet breakfast and dinner is simply awsome and delecious to taste. The waiters and other staff are very friendly and courteous towards their guest. please dont have lunch at the hotel as during lunch hours you are sure to be out for sight seeing.

ROOM AMBIANCE- hear i have a little problem. please note that the bathrooms are very neat and clean but the rooms are very spacious and little furnitures have been kept. but over all the rooms are very neat and clean and the view from the balcony is simply superb. u can see the river flowing and the snow mountains. Now i think they have also come up with new rooms (please ask for the same when you are there)

AMENITIES- As per the hotel standard the GYM is very small and have limited space and equipments (without music) but u can enjoy other amenities like Squash, carrom T.Tennis and Billiards, Ayurveda, Spa and sauna. they also have a littie liberary with Bar and a disco. if you come in big groups they will also arrange for a bonfire exclusively for you.

Overall i can say that you will be very satisfied staying in this hotel

The house keeping service and the people sitting at the reception are also very friendly and helpful.

it is a nice hotel with great breakfast (Indian and continental) but the rooms were too cold even though the heating was on. We complained few times but they couldn't do anything. The private jacuzzi was nice and the rooms were clean.

We visited Manali in Aug'09 around the Independence Day and stayed at the Ambassador Resorts.

Our experience was amazing and excellent.

The resort's location is perfect, away from the town's crowd and very peaceful

The rooms allocated to us were awesome with beautiful view of the mountains from the large windows and cosy balcony. Also, we slept and woke up to the blissful and peaceful gurgling sound of the river Beas every day.

The service of the staff was excellent and beyond expectations. Some of the travelling family members were on fast and hence unable to eat anything from the Buffet menu; upon sharing this with the staff, they went out of their way to prepare special dishes (fast worthy) for our family members and served them with a smile. Similarly, when it rained one day and we did not feel like going out, we asked for a carrom-board - the staff provided the same in our room and for the rest of the stay it syated in our room to our comfort and disposal.

It is also a complete and self-sufficient resort in many other ways such that you can choose to spend your time within the premises and need not go out at all. We enjoyed the complimentary spa/massage very much.

We look forward to staying again at the Ambassador Resorts whenever we visit Manali again.
