“A Budget Hotel with Impeccable Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013

I have come across some negative reviews of Tourist Hotel, Manali. One cannot expect 5 star luxury at a budget hotel. My wife and I both Sr. Citizens spent 3 comfortable and pampered days at this hotel in January 2012. We reached Manali late evening when frozen snow was all over and the roads were slippy and treacherous. Picked from the bus stand (free of charge). Were upgraded to a deluxe room. Water in taps were frozen, but hot water was always made available. The staff most courteous. Devraj Thakur, the owner arranged for a trip to Snow Valley. Mr. Thakur also arranged for hotel booking in Dharamsala. And we were dropped to the bus stand (again free of Charge) at 6.30 am to board our bus to Dharamsala. We commend the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms and the bath/toilet. Although we stayed in off season, there was nothing lacking. And the food was nasty and excellent. We are once again planning to stay at Tourist Hotel, the coming year on our way back from Leh.

Room Tip: Rooms on 1st. floor.

Just 1 km from Bus Stand, very polite and helpful staff, seemed very safe place to us (we were one couple only, so safety was a concern), delicious food(but limited options). And very beautiful gallery(or small garden) with a verity of flowers (Awesome gardening).

Travel agent associated with the hotel was also good, they charged very reasonably for sightseeing, and drivers were also polite and cooperative, they used to stop at any place we wanted to took snaps, and never did any hurry for leaving any place.

Only drawback was there were few power cuts and probably inverter was not working. But it didnt panic us much.

I will surely recommend this hotel, no need to look at other options.

Room Tip: All rooms are decent and have balcony or sit-out, except economy rooms on first floor which open tow...

This hotel is little difficult to find for the first time. On the way for hadimbatemple road. But is a nice decent hotel to stay. Service was good, though it could have been better. Food was nice. Only problem we faced was of insects in our room. We did complaint about it and the person sprayed insect killer but still there were insects, may be because of the green veranda outside. But otherwise it was decent place to stay.

The Tourist hotel is a great value for money. We knocked the door of the hotel at about 5:30 am without any prior reservation, with only an intimation that we might come early morning. The manager had promised if the room was available he will give it to us immediately and will even allow early check-in at no extra cost and he stood by it. He opened the door with smile, even though we had disturbed him at this odd hour, that too without any booking. Luckily we got the room and we liked it immediately. The room had an elegant interior with wooden work all around which gave it classy look and was spacious enough for two of us. The price was so so reasonable. We could appreciate the 'value for money' even better when we got up in the morning and saw the beautiful scenary from the porch. There was a small garden outside the room, which was equally beautiful and offered an amazing view of the snowy mountians. The best value for money I ever had. Sipping coffee on the breakfast table amidst greenery and snowy mountains with breeze and warmth of sunlight is an unforgettable experience. The food, another good part, was very delicious and those serving it did it with a lot of humbleness and love, which was an icing on the cake.

Overall, we were mesmerized by the place, the people and their hospitality. If we ever get a chance to go to Manali again, we will surely prefer to stay here.

Room Tip: Take one with the balcony, you will enjoy more!

Excellent hotel, nice staff and helpful. Excellent view from balcony. One of the best hotel in Manali. Very comfortable & clean rooms, food was good & hygienic. Hot water and Room heater. Book first floor room has superb view.

The room was spacious and very clean. The bed sheets were impeccable and the bed was very comfortable. Due to the cold weather, we were provided with warm blankets, which was nice. The bathrooms were also well maintained and spotless.
The room service was very prompt and got us tea in our room quickly. I really liked the food, it was fresh, hot and very delicious. We liked aloo parathas.

When we checked in Tourist Hotel, the hotel staff warmly greeted us and quickly accommodated us in our rooms. We were very happy to reach our rooms and lie down, as were extremely tired form the travelling. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed sheets were impeccable and the bed was very comfortable. Due to the cold weather, we were provided with warm blankets, which was nice. The bathrooms were also well maintained and spotless. Overall I was happy with the room. The room service was very prompt and got us tea in our room quickly. I really liked the food, it was fresh, hot and very delicious. The front desk staff was helpful and helped us in getting a good cab driver. Overall we were very satisfied with the service of the hotel and we would highly recommend it to everyone.
