My experience with atara has been great. It is a hotel of small size but luxury experience.
The room, ambience and services is at par of that a start hotel.
Moreover, they have wonderful staff that connects with you.
This has become my default destination whenever I come to Gurgaon.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is excellent run by an efficient team of young people. I enjoyed my stay here. Clean rooms and hotel staff is cooperative. Room size is quite comfortable overall it was a good experience staying at The Atara in Gurgaon. Received excellent service with food & snacks in a very chic ambiance. The lounge is very nice space to meet friends in the evening also they have a place by the waterfall to enjoy your evening snacks but it’s beginning to get a bit cold so we didn’t sit outside. Food was very nice do try the grilled fish it’s very tasty!

Room tip: Corner rooms are bigger

I stayed in The Atara for a week and found my stay cozy with a delightful blend of a guest house and hotel. There were never too many people about to give the crowded impersonal feel of a hotel but rooms were equipped enough to have everything you would need – like in a hotel. Gym, conference rooms etc. are small scale, akin to a guest house. But an advantage of that was - food and travel were customized to my needs. Major malls and offices in Gurgaon are minutes away. Overall, an enjoyable stay which I wouldn’t mind doing again when I visit Gurgaon.

Although it is a decent place without the brandwagon, but it lacks certain essential necessities especially considering the price and the Star rating the Hotel has. This review is based on my one-off experience as I was not lucky enough to rate the hotel higher than 2.

Pros -
1. Quiet Area in the neighbourhood of busy Gurgaon.
2. Very attentive staff.
3. Delicious food.

Cons -
1. No signage to reach the Hotel. Its way difficult to find out the exact location.
2. Pricey for the amenties provided (esp if half of the amenities do not work)
3. No cold water during summers. You would have to brush, shower etc in hot water during peak summers. This might be just one-off experience but getting into the details figured out the root is the water tank during extremely hot summers in North India. Still, the Hotel Management needs to find alternatives for this.
4. Management is acceptable but seriously needs improvement in order to get repeat guests.
4. Very poor Refund policy. Even if you have to check-out early due to unbearable circumstances in the hotel (eg- no cold water), the management accepts the issue but no refund straight away. I had to contact the hotel multiple times to get them to admit the problem and issue me a partial refund for my early check out.

Crux is that, if the essential amenities work out properly - then it will be a very good place to stay. Else, it will be a simple wastage of money and convenience.

Advice - Make sure you enquire all the amenties about the hotel works perfectly before booking.

Room tip: Most of the rooms have attached balconies. Pick the top level anyways, you would have no views due to the location of the hotel in a residential community.

A weekend retreat can happen anywhere you feel disconnected from the everyday world. The Atara being city provides a nice escape in the form of a cozy room and a tempting restaurant service a couple of floors below. The menu promises a good meal with fines looking dishes from cusines, The steak the serve was well done and the curries were just about fine. A quick transit here wont be a bad choice.
