“The ideal place for a lazy weekend breakfast...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Roots is a great breakfast place, a rarity in Gurgaon where most places don't open very early... a beautiful earthy setting and seating (indoor and outdoor), coupled with a simple menu at decent rates and lovely winter weather... is what you should expect when you go there during Nov to Feb... :) Stroll around in the park before or after breakfast, soak in the sun or enjoy the random drizzle, based on what the weather gods have in store for you... Food is tasty and very homelike, we had upma and the veg and cheese open sandwich, both were yum; followed by hot masala tea with loads of ginger...a perfect start to a Sunday, or for that matter any day... highly recommended.

“Such crowd does exist in Gurgaon!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

First thing that strikes us regulat family visitor types is the kind of crowd you see here.....Lot of singles/students chilling out in the winter sun....menu also has a mix of all....right from egg paratha to thai curry platter to nice juices/shakes.

Definitely a different experience in Gurgaon (maybe it sounds similar to Convergys dhaba, but a lot different)....and the fact that its in the park, makes it enjoyable for kids as well...

“Roots - Superb ambience,Excellent Service, Great Food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

This is certainly the perfect place for breakfasts and Sunday brunches - Roots Cafe it is.

Value for money : Food at the menu looks a bit expensive but portions have sufficient quantity.
Food was tasty and reminded me of homemade food (Less spicy, less oily) .
They have arrangement for Outdoor seating also & so winters are the best time to be here in the morning - Relish your food with warmth of Sun and apparently the food is also cooked here with solar energy.

Try being there by 10 am else it gets a bit crowded.
It's been made in a park and so many people prefer to have breakfast there after exercise.

A word of advice: Pay visit on weekends & do carry something to play - u'll find many people playing badminton, cricket, there....

“Oasis in the madness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

First visit to Roots Cafe after hearing about it from my husband so many times over about how fantastic it is. And he was right! The kids have a little play area which is perfect for one to enjoy a relaxed meal without having a child to fuss over. The food is fantastic and the setting is lovely as well. I didn't get to go back and eat a proper meal but the sandwich was just right. And the fact that my 6 year old had two helpings means they have done a great job on taste!

“Great Food, Excellent Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

The very rustic decor and the wholesome breakfast options (poha, upma) make it a fun healthy place to go to in the mornings. Sundays get very crowded if you don't reach before 10.
The prices are very reasonable and quite surprising given Gurgaon's cost of living. In the rainy season, earthworms / flies are a bit of an issue.
