On 31st March , 2013 we decided to have our dinner at a new restaurant which we never visited . By chance we chose to taste the food from royal kitchens of Rajasthan at Kamma Ghani . The Restaurant was cozy and roomy .Around 40 guests could be comfortably accomodated .
We ordered for Malbar Shorba - Konkani soup flavoured with coconut milk made in Rajasthani style . The Shorba was passable because the coconut milk was not fresh .As a starter, we asked for Mirch Vada - Deseeded Acharimirch stuffed and covered with flour batter fried in ghee . Except the thick skin , the vadas were ( there were 2 pieces - really big ones ) mouth watering .
In a main course , we ordered Lal Mans - Mutton cooked in ghee and Degimirch , with other special herbs and spicy authentic Rajasthani flavour , Chane Jaisalmeri - Black gram flavoured with various bay leaves , cinnamons & cumin seeds and cooked in ghee .Though I usually do not like mutton , the Lal mans was the best dish I ever tasted . The tastes of the special herbs would bring me again to the Kamma ghani . Chane Jaisalmeri were also tastefully cooked .
We ended our dinner with gulab jamun and Mava Rabadi . The desserts were really appreciable for their quality and quqntity .
Everything was excellent , except the service . The dishes were just put in our front . Nobody cared to serve us . We had to serve ourselves . There was no shortage of waiters but they had no inclination .
To taste the authentic Rajasthani cuisine this is the place .
