La-Bella, is the fare of legendary proportions. If you understand the value of non-veg tasty food in a predominant vegeterian city, you would understand the cult status this place has achieved. I know of people who have been eating for 3 generations. Single handedly run by a widow and her helpers who are of whimsical nature, and strange proportions the food is unforgettable. Known people to return to the city just for visiting "aunty" and "anna" as they are popularly known.. if she's in the mood she might just pat your hand and ask you why your father (who's pushing 55) doesn't come anymore..
For beginners, i would suggest the pork vindaloo, the kheema, the mutton fry.. basically anything. Comes with a heap of rice, which is plain and delicious. might not be the ISO-9002 on cleanliness, but then when you taste the food, who cares..
Finding the location and parking might be an issue, so try to take a rick, or 2-wheeler. Walking down should also do, but careful in the nights.
Timings are important. No advance bookings are accepted, wastage is frowned upon. No hugs for the old lady unless you know her. smiles WILL NOT be returned.
