“Beautiful, well decorated and clean hotel...gives a feel of leisure...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Did not start well. Std check-in time was 11am, received the room finally at 1pm. Was not very convinced with their alternatives which included "you plz have ur breakfast (paid one on the 1st day)" or "have a walk to the sea" or "roam around the property (huge one)" etc.
But once we settled in our room everything fell in place. Room was luxurious and was properly cleaned and decorated. Kitchen was full with refrigerated water, drinks and other amenities. Balcony was really good. The tea m/c was very helpful throughout our stay and the stock never finished.
The small pool beside the Olegario's restaurant was very nice. The bigger pool was more spacious and the swim-in bar was amazing. The gardens inside the hotel were well maintained and the sun-beds were always available. Some photos are added for traveler's benefit. Never felt better in any other hotel.
The shack just outside the resort, Calamari was as superb and the karaoke there was extraordinary. The in-house restaurant was also very good but with limited options. Complimentary breakfast was full of choices and some small modifications in the menu was immediately accommodated by the staff.
Was really impressed by the restaurant and cleaning staff. They were always cheerful and smiling. Wish to see the reception staffs more cheerful and helpful.

For the price I paid, I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay at a beach front location with beautiful gardens. Suitable for families, singles, couples. Doesn't have all mod cons but these were not expected for the price. Breakfast was basic. Could do with a lot more variety. No body wash in bathrooms, only shampoo. Main street only a few minutes walk where there are many shops and restaurants. Cottage rooms are large with AC and fans. Overall highly recommended

Room Tip: I tried to upgrade to an executive room via email directly to hotel. The only reply I got was "...

I went to Goa in Aug 2012 and had booked my stay at Santana after reading the reviews on a couple of sites. And after staying there I found why everyone is recommending it. The location, its so close to the beach makes it the best. And besides the location, the rooms, the service, the people, the food........everything was nice. They have a large and a small swimming pool, where my kid enjoyed a lot. There are shops, other restaurants very close. Scooters and bikes are available at the hotel itself.

What I didn't like.........I was there only for 4 days :(

Went right at beginning of season whilst preparations still going on.Excellent service with very friendly staff. Rooms very comfortable and clean.Food wonderful, only problem was trying to choose as all were delicious and chef willing to meet any requests we made.Provided a green haven from the bustle and noise of the street but had easy access to shops and only yards from beach.

I booked this hotel from make my trip for our 3N/4D stay in Goa based on its rating and pictures on make my trip n TripAdvisor. Its more then what i expected by seeing on the pics.I never forget
those moments which i spend on santana resort with my family.Everything about this resort is excellent, the main thing is that the beach is only 50m far away from this resort. The resort staff is very cooperative and the room service is excellent. The Room provided to us is very clean n spacious with modern amenities, spacious bedrooms, clean bathroom with bath tub, 2 balcony and an additional option of kitchen with fridge, dining table and arrangements for tea. Resort also having two swimming pools both the pools are neat n clean. The complimentary buffet breakfast provided by resort is great and lost of varity. Olegario's restaurant inside the resort was quite decent and food quality is excellent and you ill get everything mentioned in menu ,while ordering your food give ur order in one time as if your order 2nd time then it ill take time to come as the kitchen is far away from the restaurant location. The resort is at the heart of all
tourist attractions in North Goa, easily accessible. Plenty of tourist taxis & motorcycles on hire are available within few minutes one desires to hire, just call the reception and they are ready for you.Overall, great place for families, extremely economical and great offering. We really enjoyed our stay there and love to stay again when visiting Goa next time.I am sure you will too.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good.If you are coming by train then get down at Thivim or Karmali railway sation...

We booked a room at Santana Beach Resort at Goa after going through Internet reviews and looking at the photographs which appealed to us. On reaching the resort, the experience was better than expected on most counts. The location is perfect for people going with families. the adjoining beach is less than five minute walk from the resort and is almost private with no crowds and gives you your private time on the beach, so rare in Goa.

Check-in at the resort was swift and we got a welcome drink before getting into our room. The room itself was excellent, quite spacious with an extension with a kitchenette of sorts in case one wants to assemble a quick meal, complete with a fridge, washing sink and cupboards. There was a reasonably big balcony surrounded with coconut palms full of fruit and with a view of the pool.

The room was well equipped with the essentials and the bathroom, though small was fully functional with a shower cabinet instead of a tub.

The resort itself was extremely well landscaped with nature in abundance. Rooms and cottages had separate entries through exclusive staircases and trees all around.

Unfortunately, when we visited the resort, only one of its restaurants -Olegario's-- was functional. the other one --Calamari--was yet to open for the season. We ordered food from Olegario's which was quite decent and gave us a taste of Goan flavours.

The staff was extremely helpful and were prompt in attending to our needs whenever called for. The daily towel decorations --a peacock, a twin lotus and a welcome heart--were something we looked up to every day.

The location of the resort is also great with a string of eateries just a few minutes walk from there and many more within striking distance. The Stone House Grill and Fisherman's Cove in particular are great restaurants within walking distance of the resort. It is also close to Fort Aguada and within 10 kms of the other beaches like Calangute and Bagha, and are easily accessible through taxis that are available just outside the resort.

On the flip side, the hotel's breakfast left much to be desired. There was an extremely limited offering. There was almost no choice at all and most of the time, we were having just bread, butter and eggs, I think that is something the resort needs to think about because in most places that I have stayed across the world, breakfast is something people look up to whether staying on holiday or business.

Another thing, the staff at the check-in/reception seemed to be starved of smile. While they were extremely helpful and prompt in attending to whatever people wanted, the concept of service with a smile seemed alien. If you are on a holiday (and most people in a beach resort in Goa are) that is something you would want to see.

Overall, great place for families, extremely economical and great offering. We really enjoyed our stay there. I am sure you will too.

Room Tip: Choose an independent first floor room with a pool view from the balcony. Its heavenly to sit in the...

A perfect resort from all point of views. A perfect location of the resort having beach at one end and shops at another. I must say that having shops next to resort really helped as we were with my 20 months old kid. Staff was very friendly and did everything they could to make us happy. They even provided cot bed free if charge for my little one when requested. Resort was very clean and room had separate kitchen as well. Olegario restaurant had many variety of food and had everything available from the menu. I got to eat Ratatouille as well. Santana provides all the facilities at half the price of what other resorts in Goa provide. I previously stayed at terra paraiso and paid double to what I paid here. The only thing where it wins over Santana is because of bath tub. But when you are getting all the same facilities for half,I won't minding loosing bath tub. Thanks to all the helpful staff of Santana, my trip to Goa was not only enjoyable but comfortable at same time. This place is now in my priority list when visiting Goa next time.
